5 Reasons this loss doesn't matter

1. There are some mental battles you have to fight in order to beat a team twice in such a short period of time. Ask the Pats (best team in history) last year about their inability to beat the Giants.

2. Sitting people against NO could have hurt us. Teams of the past like the Colts always used to sit their players for games that "aren't meaningful" and they would lose. The year they didn't sit people....Super Bowl

3. False sense of confidence that will be formed for the Gmen. Sure they ran all over us...Derrick Ward had a career night...but that was without our best run stopper. If we play them again they are going to come in and think they can do it again but will run into Kemo and Lewis. It just won't happen again.

4. If we can beat NO we still get a bye and there is a chance that NY loses in the playoffs shifting homefield to us.

5. We lost a game that the players know we could have and maybe should have won. We had picks get batted away by teammates, bad pass interference calls, and ZERO Dline depth, all of which could have effected the outcome.

It won't matter what any of the teams did before, only what they (we) do during. We go into New Orleans not as a must win but as a can win. We can play more relaxed seeking a bye week during the playoffs and at least one home field advantage during but it's not a necessity to get us there...we are already there by virtue of being 11-4 at this point in the regular season. You think the Falcons are sweating the Rams right now?

I'd much rather be us in the NFC than the Cowboys, Bucs, Bears or Eagles right now!

The loss shows us alot. I'd rather lose now than in the playoffs. This is a good chance to learn from what happened and make sure it doesn't happen again. I thought it was a good game and even though we lost. If it had been a lopsided game and we lost, I would be worried and upset, but not with the way it turned out. I hope we beat NO so we can at least be at home for some of the games.

This loss mattered for only one reason....gave us a bye and home playoff game no matter what happened next week.

I could really care less about the #1 seed vs #2 seed. However, the bye and home divisional game is big. Take care of business next week and it won't matter.
