CJ Anderson says Panthers didn’t do anything wrong

I feel like Marty is more of a players GM... he handles the cuts pretty well in terms of how he delivers it to the player.  He is straight up but warm and fuzzy.  Its the contract extensions and knowing when to cut a player that he really has a hard time with.  I imagine it's a very hard thing to do after watching a player develop, grow in the system and later cut them for whatever reason.  But it's part of the job.

Gettleman was just the opposite... but he also came off as having being a bit drunk on power so to speak.  And I think that his ego got int he way when making some crucial decisions. See Josh Norman.

Either way... it's gotta be hard as fugg to compartmentalize all that stuff as an NFL GM.  Nothing is really as black and white as we fans want to see it.  That scene in Money Ball when Billy says he doesnt travel with the team cause he doesnt want to get close to players... yeah, that has gotta be hard.

So I am not surprised the Panthers let CJ go in a respectable fashion.  The decision is a highly debatable... but they def didnt do it in a cold blooded fashion.

At the time I said it’s for the greater good - to knock out the Saints.   So it was.

His stats in the games he did play were not amazing, maybe he was just not a good fit that is all there is to it. I give props on signing him and trying him out we can call it a failed experiment.

Anderson wasn't the one who failed.

This is part of the problem, especially because Rivera is the same way.

When you have both a coach and a GM who aren't good at making the tough decisions that are necessary to build a winning roster, there are gonna be issues.

    • One game at a time We need to beat the (insert next team) next week We need to focus on the (insert next team) If we play our brand of Football we will be ok We are playing to win next week, then the division, then we'll see, once you get to the playoffs, everyone is 0-0 We'll be looking to put our guys in a position to win
    • If Raiden were a Cane, he'd get the double minor.
    • I agree it does seem the league is against Charlotte but the picks they've made have been questionable. They've had sure fire picks fall to them and they keep trying to build a army of forwards who cannot shoot for some reason lol. You got to make a move in offseason and or trade for scoring. I get the best aren't coming to Charlotte but theres been opportunities at solid players with experience, that would've come just to be the man here in Charlotte. They got to stop over thinking this in the draft too. Take the best scorers available! I'm hearing we need more size on the wing, a big man, great defender, etc. but nothing about scoring or a shot creator. This team has been terrible at shooting the rock especially from the perimeter and its a iso 3 ball league, no one plays defense or really runs an offense. This franchise does not do well with developing players either. I've seen too many guys take huge leaps once they were away from Charlotte which is concerning. And even more concering that they're taking developmental guys when they have no business doing so. So, All that to say take a proven scorer, high basketball IQ guy, a unpolished player will not survive here.
