Thank you defense.... seriously.

I thank the defense, because without that play yesterday's game would have been even harder to take. I hate they played such a great game and then we lost it (in that way). I know it was Buffalo, but that D was lights out. I haven't seen a D like that in a while from this squad. We were missing Davis but we still came out hitting. Beason, Peppers, Harris, on point. Hollis Thomas is nasty. I think if we get a decent HC in here our defense can be fine.

I can't believe our defense kept them to like 150 yards or something total and we had 450 and lost.

Hates off to Meeks.

Yeah, the defense looked really good out there. Hollis Thomas has been a huge help, and having Harris back has been huge, too.

I just wish we had a semi-competent offense that didn't constantly put the defense in bad shape. I want to know how many of the other teams' points have been scored off of turnovers. I would think it has to be something like 70%.

The defense played great, however I was getting pissed with all those defensive timeouts we were burning. For awhile there, substitutions looked sloppy, and fat linemen were running 4.4 40's to get off the field before the ball was snapped. Some of the coaching on defense was ugly, but the players flat out got after it. That hit by Harris was timed perfectly. And the safety was an all-out bum rush to the end zone.

They definitely weren't the problem today.

But I still wished they would play tougher when jake turns it over. I know it's not a fair criticism but look at the turnovers versus other drives. First turnover, Bills get it on the 7, first rush = stuffed, second rush = waltz in?

Second turnover from the 27 this time. 5 plays, touchdown.

Third turnover, this time in their territory. First play? 50 yard bomb by ryan fuging fitzgerald.

The defense needs to realize that with jake at the helm they are going to have to come off the bench after a short rest and in a difficult situation and play hard-nosed. On the drives where we punt or where they recieved the kickoff we look like Baltimore. After turnovers we look like Tampa.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
