Your power of observation is almost mystical.

I was blinded by the success and lucky breaks we had last year and spoke out in Delhomme's favor previously. I'm glad that some people aren't as clueless as myself.

Hence the title of the thread. I guess that is mystical too.

this thread is simply a collection of stuff that has already been said. most of it by me. i called jake out last year going back to the oakland game. funny how so many are jumping on the last season bandwagon. i selected the puntjake name in january. not this year after he started playing so badly. many here thought we'd win 12 or 13 games. what a joke. i saw it coming even before the draft, training camp or preseason.

just glad everyone else is starting to catch up!

First of all the original poster is right on about peppers. Amazing what a 42 inch HD tv and DVR will show you (I rewind stuff all the time). If you disagree, well use his directions and you will see.

I've been saying it too. I boo'd Jake his first turnover at the Cardinal game and was yelling to bench him. The Carolina fans looked at me like I was crazy and they told be to sit down and shut up. I was quiet until the end of the second quarter after which I left...I was going to talk poo but...was so depressed. After that for almost a year all I heard was , "Jake just had a bad game that's all."

People are in straight up denial about Jake. Why can't anyone realize what this surgery does to quarterbacks. Yes we did good last year with two backs running for over 2,300 yards, but no QB in history overcame this surgery what in the hell do Carolina think is so different about Jake? There is NOTHING different, he is doing what every other QB has done who has gone through the surgery.

he was essentially the first to have it.

just like in San Diego, or against chicago!

but no QB in history overcame this surgery

lol he was the second to ever have it

I thought we was third or fourth to have it...but that doesn't really matter if you can't see it has negativity effected him, then I pity you. Yea well having everyone tell you Jake jsut had a bad game until they run my favorite team in the ground pisses me off. All you jake lover wont stop licking his balls long enough to realize he is just screwing us. That's cool, I'll wait however long it takes.

If Jake was benched that game we would have had a chance, that's all I wanted, I guess the other fan's didn't want the same thing. Even though they shouldn't have thrown it as many times as we did.

I don't see why everyone hates Jake so much really. He just had a bad game, that's all.

Jake for 2010.

did it effect him in all his good games last year?

So you've been hating Jake since last season, and you think that you are unique in that respect?

Sorry, but that's laughable.

No it didn't effect him in all of them, but I don't think we really got a chance to see him throw, except in the Arizona game. Like I stated we had two backs who total over 2300 yards and who knows how many TDs. Fact is as time goes on a surgery will effect a person more. I certainly do not think that year's performance by Jake warranted a 20 million guaranteed and another five years. Especially after the Cardinal game, where we tried to not be so predictable and pass it, signs were flying all over.

My questions to you is when are you going to say he is done already? How many more games? How many turnovers? He doesn't have to throw an interception to show an example of how he has lost what little he had. Just watch him play he just panics. It's clear as daylight.

Being a Wake Forest guy, I am secretly hoping that the Panthers will take Riley Skinner next year. Additionally, if Wake can't hold onto Jim Grobe, I hope that the Panthers can benefit from that as well.

I'm a huge Wake fan too - but I don't think that Skinner is the answer. Good college quarterback, a winner, and all the intangibles that you would want - but I think he's about two inches too short, and then there's his issue of holding on to the ball for far too long in the pocket. I don't see his skill set transferring over to the NFL. He would probably be a late round pick at best. I have and will say though that I thought he had no chance of being drafted before the season due to the reasons listed above and his arm strength, but after seeing Grobe open up the passing game a little bit more he does have a pretty good arm.

Granted, at 6-1 he is on the shorter end of what would be considered as average for NFL QBs. However, his decision-making, completion percentage, and arm strength demonstrate the best tools to overcome the 2 inches shy of being average height for QBs in the NFL. Given our needs and the draft pick we have for next year, I would sooner take a flyer on this kid (I am sure no one will be looking to draft him simply because of his height) than engage in the perenially high-risk pick of franchise QBs from the draft.

I appreciate you agreeing with me on most points, but I have to disagree with you here. I cannot think of a time when Jake was not throwing like he is now. I simply don't know how he has gotten away with it for as long as he has. A surgery cannot fix your throwing motion and decision-making as far as I can tell. Moreover, I don't know of any other professional QBs that have undergone Tommy John surgery.
