Again hard to know what they are thinking given no announcement. But yeah they obviously don't value Mahon at this point. Still I think you might be selling Elliott short. He right now projects as our best nickel corner if they don't move Jackson inside and don't give the role to Cockrell. Now if we bring in a free safety vet, we can call it a rap for now.

We will keep 5 corners and his competition is Elder, Doss and Thornton.  I think he has a good shot...scratch that, great shot of making the roster.

I thought they were bringing Elliott in for nickel competition so Gaulden could concentrate on playing safety.

I think you are right. Seems they may see Elliot as faster and more experienced and this allows Gailden to concentrate on one position.
