The Huddle's Favorite Poster Comes Out of Retirement to Offer a Different POV

Can we please move past the "rusty" argument?  Because frankly not only is there no way that a person can tell if someone else is "rusty" (it's an extremely subjective concept) but we are also talking about a professional athlete here, not a weekend golfer.  When Andrew Luck came back from a nearly two year absence he threw for over 300 yards, two touchdowns and completed over 70% of his passes.  The rust thing was fun in week one but back to back weeks of these kind of performances hint at something larger.

We all watched Jake go threw this after his surgery and the Arizona loss.  He just wasn't the same guy, and whatever has happened to Cam he isnt the same guy.  Whether it be injury, confidence, swagger or his diet (half joking on that one), he just has lost his spark.  Will he find it again?  I honestly dont know, it would be amazing if he did but history isnt kind to things like this.

The really sad part is people have been waiting/hoping for this to happen since Cam got here.  And it's why some people are oh so happy to say he's done.  He may be done, but if he is it is a tragedy for this franchise and not something to be happy about.

Also worth noting that as Cam matured and learned to throw on his front foot more often, a minor injury to a QB's front foot can have major implications.

Undisputed killed this narrative.

He's throwing off of his back foot even when pressure isn't getting there again.

They took away Cam's ability to run out of a false hope that the league would protect him the same as it does Brady, Brees, Manning, etc. Now, Cam is punch drunk behind the line.

A homer take, but there have been positives and trends I like for sure.  Similarities to 2013, Cam looked mildly similar in 2017 coming off surgery before getting back in shape, playing like dog ass and still being in or should have won both games, etc.

But of course we also can't deny the things that could also be true.  The main one being, we're still the same old team with inconsistencies galore, missed opportunities, and a coach who has never changed. Everyone crawled a little back onto the Rivera bandwagon after watching All or Nothing this Summer.  But the only thing he's consistently shown is inconsistent and unprepared play, questionable decisions, and trust in the wrong players far too often.
