I don't remember if Jake was great with the deep ball out of the box or over time. The X Clown to Smitty for example was not a deep route. Seems he often chucked it up and Smitty made a great play on the ball.

nah he had a good deep ball right away.

For the first like month of the 2003 season all jake did was hand off to Davis and throw bombs, mostly because he didn't know the playbook at all lmao.
