Eric Reid spoke to Tepper about Kaepernick last week

I respect the hell out of Reid for sticking up for his friend. We all have friends that do and some that don’t. That being said, Reid could have kept with mouth shut after that.  He is not having a good year... we have had plenty of worse safeties not saying we should move on but he is not in the position to demand anything of anyone so far this year.

Either Cam or Kyle... or Grier for that matter.

I get it, Reid loves his boy Kaepernick. That's cool and all, but damn... even if you want to have a conversation sometimes it's okay for that conversation to remain behind closed doors

This I can agree on

That was exactly my thoughts. This conversation probably means nothing behind closed doors. Publicly it is a bit of a mess.

Nothing wrong with evaluating him but honestly it seems with Reid he cares more about that cause than winning football games. Being I'm a fan of a team and not a cause I really don't care for that. I want winners not political soldiers.

Exactly right, and I think every rational person now realizes that re-signing Reid was a publicity stunt.  He's been one of the league's worst starting safeties.  We could be getting the same below average production for a fraction of the cost from Gaulden or Colin Jones.

Seems like we have some fans that get more upset about stuff like this than actually losing.

Turning the ball over is fine. But don't you dare mention Colin Kaepernick.

This is nonsense.   People are annoyed by the Kaepernick talk because it has nothing to do whatsoever with trying to win games.  It's a detour from football into politics, and it's annoying as hell.  You have to be braindead not to understand this.

That is a very unfair characterisation. I highly doubt our team would give him an extension and our players accept him if he was that selfish. You know he is putting the work in or he would be on the bench or unemployed.

All that being saaaaid......he is also our weakest link in coverage.

This is a football discussion. It hasn't been political until a few select individuals, yourself included, have tried to steer it that way.

Nothing about Reid talking to Tepper about going to see his personal friend work out is INHERENTLY political.
