True enough and that kind of brings me to my point that a defensive coach isn’t a bad thing. Seems a lot of people on this forum want an offensive coach. But need to realize it’s an ‘old school’ defensive coach we need to run away from.

Personally I’d rather have a new age defensive coach. I really liked McDermot, though the bills gave him a shot sooner than I would have. I still think defense wins championships. But this old school stuff doesn’t cut it anymore.

yeah there was an unspoken agreement back in the day that if you got down 2-3 scores you just kinda mailed it in because the defense had the upper hand. like you couldn't pass over the middle because the safeties could commit murder, and the routes/receivers weren't good enough to really stage comebacks. 

ron is still in that era while the rules, players, and coaches have obviously changed.
