I haven't seen enough of Haskins to know whether he has promise or not.

I do remember them beating us, but apparently that wasn't so difficult to do.

In the games I saw he looked pretty brutally awful. Then there have been whispers out of Washington that he doesn't even know the playbook and hasn't out much effort into rectifying that.

You could see his progression this season.  He wasn't great against us but it was a definite confidence booster as he was able to step up into the pocket.  Really cam along week 15 and 16 with great games (until he was injured 16 after launching a 12-15 133 2TD half)

That was a knock on him in the draft process (aptitude with the thicker playbooks of the league I.E. Kubiak).  He did show some legit progression though.

Coaching probably matters.

Lamar Jackson was said to have spectacularly bombed his whiteboard exams at the combine but the Ravens staff has certainly brought him along.

James Urban did magic once again.

I've always said that good coaches can field great teams when given the right pieces to execute their scheme, but great coaches can tailor their scheme to their talent. I wouldn't be surprised if Jackson bombed those tests. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if Cam bombed them too simply because of the offenses those guys ran in college. But, the physical talent is undeniable and if you think guys like that are coachable you take them and figure it out.

You do also have to figure out who's coachable and who's not though.

If you had to choose one, would you give more credit to James Urban or Greg Roman?

Definitely a combo platter.  I'd give the overall edge to Roman.  Roman crafted the offense, tailoring it super well for Lamar.  Urban is likely the guy really molding Lamar's snap-to-snap skills.
