Charlotte MLS Sporting Director Hired

Sounds like he’s not even Tier 2.  He never had a job like that.  He was more of an agent but not really an agent.  He’s a partner working with agents to bring players to a club.  So basically a consultant for many years. He helps good players from shitty leagues to move to bigger leagues.  Agents would work with him and he would work with teams.  He helped multiple players from shitty leagues join top leagues.  He’s a middleman basically.

Interesting. I guess he’s well connected but wonder how he’ll do in this role.

He’s known by many teams around the world but not sure how it will transition to mls.

I think that’s the approach heading into this year. Basically clt has to get an entire team ready in the next 12 months. That’s kit, branding, name, staff, facility etc and that’s going to be hard to do

if he has connections to get some players here to fill out a roster it will be good

    • Even if he beats the odds, returns midseason  and plays like he did last year it won’t warrant a big contract extension.
    • It’ll be interesting to see how the board falls I completely agree with you on TE for us The safety from Oregon would be the cherry on top for Evero’s defense/scheme.  If a OL’men is there that you love it would be very hard to pass up. This fan base seems to just see Walker as a stop gap but I wouldn’t be so sure. He’s the same age as Ekwonu. He’s had a much more impressive career arc/progression than Icky has. He’s the better pass protector. As far as I see it if Walker has a good year I’d bring him back over Icky. Ekwonu isn’t some elite franchise LT. Playing next to Lewis is going to be great for Walker much like it has been for Icky. We definitely need to get younger/cheaper on the OL though so for this reason alone it’s still top of my list come round 1 if board falls this way  Could also use another corner with Mike Jackson’s deal up after this season and needing a nickel but Corey Thornton looked really good in that role in the limited time we got to see him. However he’s coming off an achillies injury and you never know with those.  Then as mentioned above we do still have a need at WR. As far as “weapons” go it’s kind of a 2 man show with Tmac and Coker and neither is a burner. If Jordan Tyson is there at 19 and we can have a young WR group locked up for cheap that’s a huge advantage cap wise  And don’t forget linebacker. That clip in Devin’s Lloyd blueprint they used from Evero saying they need more intelligence there could’ve been left out for Wallace’s sake but it’s true. Wallace is lost in coverage. Pair a smart linebacker with Lloyd and that’s a group with Wallace and Cherelus being depth
