I think his styles are strange too but that's why he does it and also to get under people skin. The media has always messed with him so this is a big G you to them.

Cam is as unique as they come.  He is having fun and does not care what people think off the field.

Am thinking Tepper let’s Cam play out his contract, see if he gets back to “old Cam”. Still wouldn’t be surprised if Hurney takes a qb in the draft.

I think we stick with allen then grier as backups.....I dont see Hurney giving up on grier yet I mean when he did play he was awful and holding the ball too long but he also was getting molly whipped to the point he said in done.

Not quite.

What Tepper actually said was "When healthy, he's an elite quarterback."

They've made no definitive "Cam is our starter next year" statements.

I get the feeling that Tepper does not like Cam, which does not mean much-He has had opportunity to speak on his QB, and it always sounds like a line a lawyer gives a guilty client during an police interrogation.

Grier was absolutely dreadful. I saw nothing that indicated even the slightest ability to play in the NFL.

I'm sure you've already read it but https://www.si.com/.amp/nfl/2019/12/12/cam-newton-panthers-future-injury-david-tepper

Imo he alludes to it enough to come to a conclusion that if healthy he is our qb...the trading him away thing doesnt make sense unless a team gave up stupid capital and that ain't happening.

This alludes to the opposit...anyone you call elite and gove that honor to you got to like.

Police interrogations aren't fun..but the trick is dont say nothing they dont know nothing.

I get it.  That is what I mean about a lawyer's statement.  Tepper compliments, but where is the commitment on a regular basis?

Hes staying quiet like another poster said, it helps us in the draft. Hell thinking we are gonna get rid of newton when we aren't helps.

    • I could be waaaaaaay off about Kon. I do fault myself into, to borrow a NFL phrase heavily "RAS" nerd on players, too much. There are PLENTY of athletic freak shows that are playing overseas(or Amazon delivery) cause they never figured out NBA ball. I can easily miss seeing the talent. Plus did he only have 2 dunks on the season??(is that for real??) I didn't watch over a few hours of duke, but not one point did I think "That Kon guy is a top 4 pick in the upcoming draft". IMO I still foresee Ball bringing the ball up, doing his weak isolation game and never even looking for Kon. That's his best trait according to everyone, shooting right? I do not see ball, bridges, miller or even williams making the extra pass to Kon for him to shoot a 3.  Then defense-wise, Im not ready to type the amount of questions I foresee in his ability for guarding NBA SGs or bench SFs for that matter. Not that NBA players care to defend, but still..... I just feel he's a bad fit for the current hornets, trades are taking place tho... Liam to me is a decent comp for Kon and he fell some, but was a 29 overall pick. Still around 13-21 was the good solid range for Liam and I thought the same for Kon. This is just a classic case of I need to see it. It add to this, Kon is like garlic. Ball is like sugar and Miller is like flour. Mix it together and chef Lee is not going to get me to eat that dish..... Honestly I don't know why Im this vocal about Kon. In past years I would be patience and not post and see what the kid has. The other side, insert classic white boy terms here- _____, ______, _______< etc >. Hornets do desperately need them. His crafty back door cuts, his willingness to stay a extra 2 hours to refine lees plays, keep playing with bruised limbs. I heard from many reports he's mentally tough and hornets by all gods need that. God they are such pussys.  I hope Im wrong and if so, I will give Kon his just props.
