Well the "Kyle Allen is the future" talk in general was all hot takes. But he can solidify the backup QB position for cheap and allow the team to build elsewhere.

He is just trolling.  He recently recalled from memory something (taken out of context) that he says I said from 2013.  While I could argue my point today and win in an objective court--the real concern should be the fact that he remembers stuff said 7 years ago on a discussion board.  It (somehow) is very personal to him.  We are discussing and spitballing--you'd think he believes we are writing legislation or translating the Bible.  Some people create rivals and spend their entire lives trying to get even.  I have blocked him because he is not why I visit the Huddle, but once in a while I see a comment on a quote and realize that he is still at it.  He is like Wiley Coyote trying to catch the Road Runner.

Until it happens, I never believe NFL rumors. Bunch of blah blah blah & yadda yadda yadda.

It is, but what better purpose for a discussion board?  We are all outsiders trying to piece it all together.  They beauty of poker is not when one hand is shown to be more powerful than the other, it is the guessing and wagering.  In that Blah Blah there are embedded signs or bluffs. This board is 84.3321% speculation (I rounded that number).

I honestly have enjoyed MHS's other takes outside of this one. Especially in the tinderbox where we likely agree with one another wholeheartedly. But on the subject of Cam Newton and the future of the QB position, there's something eating away at him. I do not claim to be without bias, we all have some. But his past takes, especially the way he railed against Newton for years about not winning, to the point of openly wanting him traded before our win streak in 2013, to wanting Allen signed to an extension after a mere 3 or 4 games tells me something is there. And with that in mind, him calling out others for bias is absurdly hypocritical.

I just do not see an extension being offered regardless of how this "workout" goes.  This whole situation reeks of salary dumps for 2021.

It really does not make sense at all.  And if we are tanking, keeping him at QB in 2020 makes little sense.

Yeppers. Poker = 1/2 skill + 1/2 luck.

Meh. I used to look for any NFL rumor I could find so I could be up to date. Problem is rumors cause me to get my hopes up and BAM! Result turns out to be the opposite.

If the workout rumors are true it screams "Hey look Chargers, Bears and Raiders...he's healthy now. Offer another pick".

If the plan was to allow him time to fully heal and play out his deal, no March workout would be needed. He'd just rest until he was ready for training camp and they'd probably tell everyone that.

I'm still waiting for a worthy argument on why we should potentially offer CMC a record contract this year in the midst of shipping off our starting quarterback. If we are minimum two years away from contending with a franchise quarterback in place, what good is it to pay McCaffrey a boatload of money to rot on a losing team in a rebuild in what are his prime years?

Just let it go Red.  Jeez.  This case you are building is really unbalanced.  Recalling my posts from 2013, Tinderbox, etc.  reveals an obsession.  Just make points and stop attacking fellow posters.  Why is that too hard for you?

I enjoy when you do this. As if you are perfect and have never attacked a soul. You've never railed against others labeling them nut huggers, and you've certainly never called anyone a crackhead for their opinion. Right? :eyeroll:

Too often we take one rumor and run with it--sometimes you can lay out all the cards and make a decent guess.  I do not worry about disappointment at this stage--I was excited when we signed McCoy--I should have been disappointed.  I was upset when we drafted CMC....should have been elated.  I just enjoy the speculation--I know that nothing is certain until it is certain.  However, it is interesting to learn how others approach it.

It's coming. The full tankapalooza. Thanks for the memories Cam.

Last time I heard a franchise try and sell the fanbase on "The Process" was when the Philadelphia 76ers went full tank mode and accumulated high draft picks for several years.

I use a fake name on the internet--perfection is not my objective.  I attack those who attack me--I said that.  Get hooked on phonix.  If I ever called you a crackhead, I need to apologize to them.  Go away Troll.
