It's funny. I watched the video on the first page. Then watch the video on the previous page.

Two completely different opinions coming out of TD ..

How can you explain that.

The whole idea is to get the public to not know what to believe.

The first clip is only an excerpt. Here's the full clip.

Davis says the best thing for Newton to do would be to find another team within the first 30 seconds.

What's also true is that this clip came before Tepper made his comments yesterday. The clip that was posted on the previous page came after those words, and Davis sounds much less positive following Tepper's non-commital stance.

Listen it's not an enviable situation, that is clear. Is there necessarily a right or a wrong way to go about this? Yes and no. But it's been festering for some time now and we seem all too willing to allow that to continue, even adding fuel to the flames. That's where things get dicey. Again, this is all just my opinion. I want what's best for the team, and let's be real, we are going to be rebuilding our culture from scratch. The way we are going about this is not a great first step in that.

The smartest thing for us to do is exactly what we are doing, minus extending Shaq, and possibly extending CMC.

Other than that, there really isn't much else to do, or say, specifically speaking on Cam Newton at this time.

Next up will be to trade Cam, or release him outright if he wants to go to a team not willing to trade for him, then completely rebuild with Kyle Allen or Grier being the starter, or likely both with the way this team is built on the O Line.

Exciting?  Hell no, but that's the very best step for this franchise.

    • Absolutely. He just turned 27 a few days ago, so quite young. He and Moehrig would be quite the pairing.  I know we say this every year, but this FA period has A LOT of talent that will be switching uniforms. We were aggressive last year and have no doubt this time next week will have some studs on defense.
    • DJ Moore has always been a bit of an enigma. He came here young, flashed a ton of potential, but never truly grew into a real #1. He’s had a few good reasons, but yet to have a real monster season (outside of his first year with Chicago) We’re still waiting for him to blossom, but he will be 29 next season. I fear that it is too late for him at this point.
    • I have considered free agency.  LT?  Either not good enough or too expensive.  Besides, this is a good OT draft.  (I would rather have a free agent, mind you, but the Panthers' reality suggests we can't do it without neglecting other positions).  What LTs are available in free agency, and what do you expect to pay?  Any Ickey-level OT is going to cost over $20m.   How much do we already have invested in our OL?  I get your point, but I do not think you can spend over $100m per on your OL. We have 2 guards and a right T who pull in about $75m per season.  We don't have a center yet.  Teams just don't let good LTs hit free agency, and when one does on rare occasion, he is expensive.  If you want a third of the Panther cap going to 5 Offensive Linemen, free agency is the way to go.  We still need S, ILB, Edge, WR, etc. I think we'd need more than Nijman--and I would understand if we went free agent for a T--but that is putting a TON of your cap at OL--so considering our situation, I do not see that option as preferable.  You may disagree. If I was not talking LT on our line and thinking about the cap, I would agree 100%.
