Neither do his supporters on this issue. They will make every excuse in the world why he wasnt that successful, why he was cut, why he hasnt signed.  And in the same breath tell you he should be in the HoF. Can you image not meeting your goals on your job and blaming management? Or your peers?  I am pretty sure that wouldn't go over well. Cam never had back to back winning seasons, he is a below 60% career passer for NINE YEARS. His TD/INT ratio sucks but yet we are supposed to believe that he is better than most of the QBs in the league.....OK. As Bill Parcells said. You are what your record says you are.

Damn, we went 5-11 last year. I guess that means CMC's historic season was an abject failure.

Man... I expect better from you. This statement is really unfortunate. Football is the ultimate team sport. It is not uncommon for a a player to have a banner year, or game and his team still loses. Dont deflect. Man up.

I absolutely agree with this. I'm not deflecting, I'm mocking your previous post.

It's interesting that when CMC is discussed, it's the ultimate team sport yet when Cam is discussed that "you are what your record says you are". BTW, Cam has a winning record as a starting QB with quite a few wins to spare.

My point is CMC produced. Cam did not. So yes....YOUR RECORD IS WHAT YOUR RECORD SAY YOU ARE. Again Cam NEVER had back to back winning seasons. Cam is a sub par 60% passer. Cam TD/INT ratio sucks. Those are not opinions. They are facts no matter how you try to explain away, deflect to other players, get opinions from other players. Those are facts. I dont care what he wore after the game; who his wife is, who girl friend is, how many baby momas he has , his muscle build. It only matters to me if he produced. HE DIDNT. At least not cinsistently. Becausee I want my team to win...CONSISTENTLY.

So, what do you think our record would've been over those years without Cam? It just interesting that you pile the blame on him for all of the losing, but none of the winning and ignore his completion percentage the one season we didn't ask him to constantly throw deep down the field to blanketed WRs.

Who knows? But I know this. He didnt. He wasnt that good on a personal staticstical level. He wasnt that good on a team level. Tell me this,  which one would have..... A guy who leads his team to a 16 - 0 season sandwich between two 7-9 seasons or a guy that led his team to 3 consecutive 10-6 seasons? Maybe you are in the minority but most fans would pick the latter. Because more than likely you are in the playoffs at 10-6 every year. And make no bones about it. The NFL is a QB driven league. So goes your QB, So goes your team.

I will always value consistency over high peaks in valleys. Maybe thats just me.

No Panthers player has ever had back to back winning seasons as a Panther.

Was Steve Smith what his record said he was until he got to the Ravens?

OK.. let me sum this up:

Its ok that Cam has never had back to back winning seasons because no other Panther player has.
Cam's numbers are average because his O Line was bad, lack of running game, bad receivers, bad FO, and bad coaching.
He's not signed because of pandemic, injury, fit and race while many other players have signed.

Got it. You guys win.

All I get from you is that when Cam is involved, the record matters (his record being an overall winning one on an overall losing record of a franchise, mind you) but when it's a player you actually like, it's the ultimate team sport.

You just don't like Cam for whatever reason. Simply admit that and move on.

Compare his CAREER numbers to:

* Rodgers
* Brees
* Brady
* Wilson
* Ryan
* Mahomes
* Even Wentz
* Cousins
* Watson
* Prescott
* Big Ben
* Rivers

I'm am not going to include Jackson, Murray or Minshaw because their careers are just starting in the effort of being fair. But if you were that would be almost half of the league that is better statistically. Because for me, I like to compare performance to peers not by internal franchise records. How many times did Cam compete against Delhomme? Cam stats are what they are, you can deflect all you want. it wont change them.
