Jake Delhomme - Hall of Fame candidate

Sean Payton's Vicodin

Recommended Posts

Jake’s career numbers of 126-101 TD- INT, 20,000 yds and 81 pass rtg parallels the Cowboys “Dandy” Don Meredith’s of  135-111, 17,000 yds and 75.  Would like to see Jake’s media career take a similar path.  His folksy, unconventional delivery could develop into a more national audience.

What a couple of people have said - his value went way beyond the stat sheet. Not a HOFer, but a really good player before the injury. He nearly willed us to a SB victory and would have been MVP had we won.

From 247 Sports:

In the game itself, Delhomme played the game of his life in what is considered to be one of the greatest Super Bowls of all-time: He completed 16-of-33 passes for 323 yards, three touchdowns with no interceptions, and finished the game with a passer rating of 113.6.

Jake was incredibly fun to watch, but he's just not HoF material.

But man, that Superbowl was incredible.

Now that Jake's HOF eligible, we'll soon see our esteemed  QB become the first (and greatest) Carolina Panther ever inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

:shades:

Sorry Smitty, but you know you would have been a JAG without peerless Delhomme leading the team to glory.

:)
