Why Winning Now Will Cost Us About 15 Years

Well you probably believe in participation trophies for kids as well.

But yes. 1 winner 32 losers.

Superbowl should be everyone's standard.

Except this year and the following years it would take to implement your formula, right?

I would trade 4 winless years for a ring in year 5.

Again 0-16 or 16-0 with no ring is the same.

Actually if you went 16-0 and lost the Superbowl you'd be the bigger joke.

I get it though. Most people like to do what feels good not what's hard.

Coaching matters.

Defense matters.

But without a great QB you're going to have suboptimal success.

Sure you might win one ala Dilfer.

But why would you purposefully limit yourself?

Show me a better mathematical chance of us winning the Superbowl in 5 years than if we had gone 0-16 and drafted TL.

Does it guarantee one no. But I guarantee it increases our EV.

Equity matters folks.

Man what kind of analytics do you have going on there.

Tell me something ole Nastrodamas what year in this formula does Trevor win his first Super Bowl? Because that must be the guarantee other wise you're just hoping and wishing like everyone else.

I'm sure Brown fans can say give me good coaching, defense blah..blah and we can win with Baker. Jets with Donald. Titans with Vince Young and the story goes and the story goes.

The "great" Qb in alot of instances were not considered great or elite until they won one and then had substained success like Wilson and Brady. Some were never considered great before or after they won Super Bowl ala Flacco.

Teddy is a good enough Qb to win here and get to this team to the top with the right pieces.

Nothing about Drew Brees career in San Diego showed that he was destined to be an all time great, other wise they wouldn't have drafted Phillip Rivers. Brees goes to New Orleans under the right coach and system and viola the rest is history.

If Drew had never torn up his shoulder they would have never drafted Rivers.

That was the same injury insurance we should have used to draft Mahomes.

And I already stated I believe we win the Superbowl in the 2026 season (2027 Superbowl) if had gotten TL.

I do not think Teddy can win it for us.

He's not good enough.

In 2026 wouldn't Mahomes be in his prime at that point what if he faced off against Lawrence in the Super Bowl, does the universe explode?

No it would just replace our Superbowl against Belicheat as the greatest of all time.

Son of a bish filmed our practices and I remember the play during the game I figured it out.

If JK doesn't blow it for us with that kickoff we still could have overcome the cheating.

All with a UDFA starting at QB, am I right?

    • Yeah. How he shows up in training camp with a year of NFL training and nutrition will tell us all we need to know.  Side note... how has Bryce still managed not to find the weight room?
    • I hope he finds his lane in year 2.  Now that we signed Walker, I'm really intrigued how Dan feels about the DL. Is there a piece there in R1 that presents value/BPA and fills a void for one of the spots w/ DB and Wharton.  I'll give Wharton another year to show us why he was signed here. With A'Shawn gone, I don't think BBIII is it.  Our edges are set and our LBs are balanced. Horn/Mike Jack and Moehrig will hold the secondary together. DB is, well...DB.  However, I think this is an area that is the biggest question mark right now. I see 1 of 3 spots that are locked and loaded for us. If we move to a 4 down front, I assume Phillips would slide down to be the additional linemen, but we still have questions about the other two spots in either scheme.  I'd feel better with a tradeback, but I do wonder how McDonald would do here. Maybe Woods....but McDonald really does peek my interest.  Or, can Jackson take that next step. The coaching staff speaks highly of him for what little he played. Here's hoping he stays healthy and comes into TC with something to prove. There's a spot to be taken, here's hoping he takes it.
