The other side of "It is what it is."

We have all heard John Fox repeat this trite, but true phrase over the years. Yes, it's true in all situations. It is what it is. How can it not be? Right? Well, I subject to you that "it is what it is", may not be completely true in reference to the the current situation of the Panthers. There is another side:

It's not what it's not.

Now, of course, I could go through all of reasons as to why John Fox's system is not the model of genius that some---still to this day---believe that it is. I could also tell you that this is not another fire Fox thread (but it's not), but it is what it is.

If it is what it is, then it's not what it's not. And, if it's not, then why after all these years isn't it?

The next time you hear John Fox say "It is what it is", I want you to hear the other side, and then tell me what business an NFL coach (especially one who has been at the head for years) has saying the phrase.

BTW, I also approve of "It ain't what it ain't."

How About;

It's just fu@*ing Football.

If that's how you think....then you need to find something else to support then.

To some people that that really love, and have a passion for this game, that is like hearing "It's just a kid", when child is found dead.

Sorry....doesn't work that way.

The other correllaries are:

It isn't what many people think it is.

It isn't always what people try to make it be.

If you aren't there, you have no idea what it is.

Then why do you criticize everybody else for their thought process about this organization, but stand by yours? ;)

I guess you are right - If football compares to a child being found dead than I don't have a true passion for it.

Are you saying I don't have a right to my own opinion or to disagree with you? I think everyone has a right to their own opinion and to express it. And I think people have a right to disagree with one another. I also think having facts, articles, and a reason to disagree is preferable to a random opinion or speculation.

What you call criticizing I call expressing a counter argument which almost always I back up with facts and information. If that is criticizing then what's wrong with that?

You do it all the time and often with personal insults and attacks.

I'll need some facts to back this up.

I do love football and my team a great deal, but most of what I post on here is in jest, and just the hell of it. If it get's a rise out of you....then it's working. ;)

I saw your shocking souls 4 fun moniker under the avatar right away and knew your game. I usually just ignore you unless you get personal or negative. I know that you do it for a reaction. And sometimes it works. Never saw the value in baiting people for personal amusement but it takes all kinds. As I have said before you have a right to do whatever as long as it doesn't infringe on the rights of others.

So shock away and fish all you want.

    • You guys are just going to have to accept the fact that Dan Morgan is a mid GM best case scenario currently. I used to have people get very belligerent over defending Scott Fitterer too. And that's not hyperbole. People used to go to bat for that guy like he was blood related. We have a truckload invested in the OL and what do we have to show for it? The whole unit is already banged up including one of our big signings. Even without all that the group has largely taken a step back from last year in pass protection. Then you get to the QB room and there's only two conclusions you can make about Dan Morgan. Either he deliberately ignored it two years in a row on his own accord or he took orders from Tepper to do so. Either scenario says he's not fit to be an NFL GM.
    • Frank, ceding control of the defense in no way verifies that Tepper told Canales to bench Young.    It certainly buttresses the idea that Canales would need permission to bench him but that is as far as you can take it.    After that it is pure speculation and it doesn’t make sense.
    • Uhh, okay yes that happened. I didn’t like the pick either I am a 3rd or later RB guy. Always. Actually hated the CMC pick too. Hated the Stewart pick.  No one wants to talk about trading the #39 in that draft and what he did with that.  Got #52, #155, and the Rams 2025 2nd to boot.   The 52 and 155 plus our 142 5th rounder to go up for a Brooks Everyone wants to forget about the 2025 2nd for that Rams trade  which was used to move up for Scourton.  That Rams trade down was a great deal for us.
