Why isn't it that like 10-12 plays a game are guaranteed Smitty plays?

Because defenses put enough resources into covering him that he's only open 4-5 times a game. So, the ball comes to him that often, and gets forced to him once or twice more.

Which is fine this year because we have at least 3 other solid weapons. Smitty's presence on the field makes opportunities for those other weapons. That's why Moose and the RB's are having good years.

Defenses have two options ... stop Smitty and take your chances with everyone else, or stop everyone else and take your chances with Smitty. We give defenses a poor choice. That's why we have 11 wins.

I completely get that and for the most part I agree. Fact is he can beat double coverage, he is an elite receiver. He's not just a starter, #1 roster spot, or first option guy he is the game changer. 4-5 times isn't enough Jeff Davidson needs to work it out.

Can you imagine 10 touches a game that's like a guarantee of at least 100 yards production and a td.
