Streaming NFL Packages compared

Thought a reasonable recent summary would be helpful to some.   (Yes, I know this could have gone in the main forum 'cause it's football-related, but figured it'd be perfectly fine here too.  )

This is from https://variety.com/feature/watch-nfl-online-1235045647/ , "HOW TO WATCH AND STREAM THE NFL"

  • Amazon Prime:  11 Thursday Night games
  • YouTube TV: Basic plan comes basic broadcasters along with ESPN and NFL network. Sports package with Red Zone is extra
  • Hulu Plus: Fox, CBS, NBC, ESPN
  • Fubo TV: NBC, Fox, CBS, ESPN, NFL Network
  • ESPN Plus: uh.... ESPN
  • SlingTV:   Either ESPN or Fox+NBC, depending on package. Redzone is available for extra

One small comment…not all of the streaming service have the same picture quality.  Hulu TV is good, so is Fubu…good.  The interfaces for both of those are decent.

Sling TV with no locals is really meh.  The streaming quality is VERY meh.

Youtube TV is best and I dont like how expensive it is so no bias at all.  Best interface and quality.  I can tape every NFL game played by NFL Network, ESPN and others with no worries.  Youtube TVs DVR is ridiculous.

Hulu Live also now has the NFL Network.

Oooooh, so close to having another reasonable option for watching NFL online.  Almost sounds like FOX's answer to NFL's RedZone, but something tells me that this may be FOX-specific rather than across all networks (ala RedZone or ESPN's NFL highlights show)

FOX has announced that they will be expanding their (free) TUBI streaming channel to include sports, including NFL.

Tubi’s curated NFL channel will include “near-to-live” in-season digital highlights plus replays of “some of the most memorable matchups in NFL history” and library content including past seasons of the series “Hard Knocks.”

the Tubi hub also will comprise nearly 700 hours of on-demand content at launch from the NFL, MLB, Nascar, Big Ten, Concacaf soccer, PBC boxing, PBA bowling and more.

New update, for those of you on Verizon cellphones who were able to stream the NFL for free:

Verizon had carried NFL games live on mobile in the U.S. since 2010, and under its pact with the league in 2017 had relinquished exclusive mobile streaming rights. Now it’s ending that piece of the NFL deal.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
