It was on the local morning news. They stated that 72% of the covid related hospitalizations here are unvaccinated people. That would mean  the remaining 28% are.  That's up from the 10% being touted.

My friends are  getting better sure.  Never said they weren't.   You read info that what you wanted to.  One is still running a fever 7 days after a positive test.  If you would have taken a better approach towards me I would have said all this already.

And if you think im afraid of your threats we'll lol.  Kiss my ass!!!

Buncombe County has a 61% vaccination rate. So, 39% of the population is responsible for 72% of the hospitalizations. Sounds like the vaccines are doing a pretty good job of preventing development of serious disease.

One of the reasons for rising vaccinated hospitalization rates could be that the most vulnerable populations to developing serious disease from COVID were the first to get vaccinated, least likely to develop good immune response following vaccination, and most likely to have waning antibodies due to both factors, hence boosters. The most vulnerable populations also have a much higher vaccination rate than the overall population creating quite the stacked deck of data points.

Liquor stores are open because people are addicted to booze and could end up in the hospital if they don’t get their fifth of Early Times before noon.

When we were in the lockdown a year ago or so there is so much grey area about essential businesses it was laughable. Lowe’s and Dunkin are NOT essential but they were open. It was pretty stupid. Gov should have paid people to stay home.

Ok, but a Bar can't be open, which serves that same purpose as a liquor store. Yes, there was alot of Gray Area which is why there was skeptism and defiance. The Government shouldnt be wasting more tax dollars for us to stay home, they waste enough as it is. What should have happened is the States should have been responsible for what is opened/closed and it should have been clear, concise, communication. I was against the shut down from the beginning because of the lack of interoperability.

The Government thinks they can do whatever they want, that is the scary thing.

True dat but this is one of the few times I’m ok with the gov telling people they must get vaxed. Your personal freedom and religious Liberty stops with me when there is a public health crisis.

    • I know it was posted in another thread but it is buried at this point and figured it was good to see how he’s doing. Also, checkout these videos and tell me you are not excited to see this kid run behind our massive O line.. ARTICLE: Panthers 2nd-round pick Jonathon Brooks expects to be healthy for training camp. Even coming off an ACL tear, Jonathon Brooks was still the first running back taken in the 2024 NFL draft. And soon enough, that injury may not be a factor.   After a little movement in the second round, the Carolina Panthers settled in on the 46th overall slot used it to select Brooks. When speaking to reporters for the first time since the card was turned in, the 20-year-old rusher confirmed the belief that he should be ready to go by the start of training camp. “Honestly, as far as rehab goes, it’s good,” Brooks said. “I’m out there, I’m running, I’m about to start cutting. So I’m progressing well. I’m right on track on where I need to be. For me to get back to camp, it’s also just a blessing. I feel like this injury’s a blessing from God just being that it gives me a chance to focus on a lot of other things. As bad as it is, it’s the best-case scenario. I just only tore my ACL and it was a complete tear. It’s great, I can’t wait to get back out there and just can’t wait to keep playing football.” Brooks played some spectacular football before the tear—having rushed for 1,139 yards and 10 touchdowns over just 11 games. His efforts, while cut short, still earned him a second-team All-Big 12 selection for the 2023 season. The Panthers, who are sticking around in Charlotte this summer, will begin training camp in late July. -pantherswire.usatoday.com
    • How do you figure he will redshirt for a year? All indications are he will be ready for training camp.
    • Trading Thielen, huh? I could go for that. I'd trade him for a fourth (which turns into Malik Washington or Javon Baker) in a heartbeat.
