Since the merger in 1970, there have been 400 teams start the NFL season with a record of 0-2, according to Stathead. Of those 400, only 38 have reached the playoffs. That's 9.5 percent of 0-2 teams. It has been a while since teams that started the year 0-2 made it to the postseason.

You now have one more week to play and one more spot in the playoffs so that percentage is going to increase in the upcoming years

I can see it now.................well Matt you are 0-2 here going into week 3..........any observations about that start?

"Well you can see that starting 0-2 there is still an 11.3% chance statistically in making the playoffs and we can certainly be one of those teams in that 11.3% percentage, I'm sure of that possibility so we are going to play with that possibility in mind right into week 3 with our next opponent"

    • Could do better could do worse. I've seen some people very indignant over bringing him back and I can absolutely relate to the sentiment. But it's just in a backup role. He's also a good locker room presence and an effort player so for a 1 year rental in a year where we aren't going to do much it's fine. This is a development year. And there will be options if need be at the trade deadline. Besides at the end of the day we all knew a signing like this was around the corner after how drafting Mark Williams ended. He should have been our franchise center for the next several years. I don’t put that failure on the Hornets.
    • No one is upset.  And what I referred has been happening.   Patrick Mahomes has an offseason basketball clause in his contract.  A ton of other physical activites like jet skiing, baseball and all sorts of physical activities are written into his contract.  XL likely already has ATVs and stuff written into his contact.  League already has been inserting a lot of that stuff into basic contracts for non-top tier players and we have seen it pan out.
    • A payment for future production, puts him a cane for 9 seasons.
