Burns had a no-trade clause and Carolina was on that list. Thing is, Burns hadn't updated that list in some time. 

Rumor has it he said yes to Carolina without pause and without talking $$.

Stepan has had a very good preseason. I imagine he’ll get a contract soon.

If I had to guess, Marty and Kase are locked into that fourth line. Drury, Stepan, and Noesen are all fighting for the final two spots as Stromwall has faded a bit.

Drury and Noessen are the future of the team. I'd be surprised if Stepan sticks.

Drury sure but Noesen is 29, he’s essentially a slightly younger version of Stepan but he doesn’t play center (like Stepan does) which is the most valuable position in hockey.
