I love how I got a B+ for getting Young with the 19th pick. Yeah B+ my ass.

So I think you should do a Mock Draft that is all your own.   Just give us your picks in each round…forget the simulators.

Nobody cares about Sim mock drafts.

OK so these are realisitc picks, not longshots. We have a chance at these players.

Pick #1. QB - Bryce Young.

I think the Panthers brass values intelligence over raw talent at the QB position, so they are going Young over CJ. I'm starting to like Young over CJ as well because you can see Young processes information very quickly. That is critical to being successful in the NFL. Maybe he doesn't have a cannon, but if he can manipulate a secondary, and anticipate routes ect then he might be our guy. I still love CJ too.

Pick #39. Edge - Will McDonald IV.

When you address the offense in free agency it allows you to take a look at the weakness of the defense. The most glaring problem is our pass rush. Look at the TB game and see that Burns did nothing and never got close to Brady, and there is no sack artist to pair with Burns on this roster. McDonald will play OLB and get after the QB. He is too light right now but after a season in the weight room you're talking about a beast imo.

Pick #93. CB - DJ Turner. Every Panthers fan should pretty much know at this point that we're going to have injury problems at the CB position. Horn is likely to have some kind of injury at some point, and Jackson has a lower body injury every time his name is brought up by the tv announcers. He's perpetually injured, and now he's coming off a torn achilles as well. Good lord. We have to take another CB imo. D.J runs a 4.26 40-yard dash. He's 5'11 and on the lighter side, but we're at pick 93 now. We're not getting the perfect CB here.

Pick #114. TE - Zack Kuntz.  Dude is 6'7 and runs a 4.55 40 yard dash. Give him a year in an NFL weight lifting program and he'll be ready to make plays for us. He can also step in if we have an injury at TE. Just don't fire the pass at him, loft it up high. Who is going to get it he's 6'7 with long arms? Hello redzone.

Pick #132. LB - Dorian Williams - Poor man's Shaq Thompson. If Shaq goes down, he goes in.

Pick #145.  IOL - Olusegun Oluwatimi - Depth for the o-line. Touted for having strong core strength.

I didn't take a WR because I think we're going to sign another one.

Pick #1. QB - CJ Stroud - Him or Young

Pick #39. LB/Edge - Drew Sanders - Can play inside and outside and have Parson like impact as a blitzer in our 3-4 hybrid front. Really high on this guy on day 2.

Pick #93. CB - DJ Turner. - Seems optimistic in late 3rd, but should be possible according to PFF rankings.

Pick #114. WR - Jonathan Mingo - Big bodied receiver with good hands.

Pick #132. RB - Roschon Johnson - Powerback to replace Foreman and compliment Sanders.

Pick #145.  OL - Tyler Steen - OL depth.

    • Night and day difference in the front office investements.  Since Morgan has been in the FO (5 years)....4 out of 5 first round picks have been offensive players.  The one defensive pick was a corner. Expand it out to the first 2 rounds? 7 out of the 9 picks have been offensive.  That IMO is why our D sucks so bad.   You build defenses up front.   Carolina hasn't been investing there.  Ron's first 5 years? 3 of the 5 first round picks were defensive players.  Expand it all to include second rounders  7 of the 10 picks were defensive.  All front 7 players.
    • I think he gets this year to show what he can do.  Last year, we had a lot of injuries. This year, we should have some players, even if we lose one or two.  It's the first preseason game.  Some of the starters weren't even in it.  There is no scheming or game planning.  Let's see how guys do when it counts. I think we have a GM that knows a thing or two about defense.  Let it play out.
    • I was ok with the mentor aspect of keeping Dalton, but wow has he fallen off the deep end. The slow behind the WR interception was awful. I keep hearing our WRs created no separation, but on that particular play dude was wide open and Dalton couldn't get it to him with a clean pocket. Next year, we need to address the backup QB spot haaaaaard!
