A comparison of Moore's stats vs. Jake's average this season

Comparing season average to one game...you guys that desperate?

Jake Delhomme's highest passer rating of the season - 115.8....against a better team, ATL.

Other passer ratings this season - 94.3, 82.3, 82.2, 77.2

You guys should take a break, walk off those hard-ons you got for average quarterback play.

Jake sucked against the bucs. Average QB play is an improvement, b/c Jake is a below-average QB.

The only thing I am attempting is to disprove the "bail out" argument. Qb's have to put the ball in a position where they need to be bailed out. There was another close interception where Moore eyed down Smith on a fake hitch and put alot of air on the ball 9 yards downfield. If Smith had come down with it, it would have been something you call bail out. I call it making a play.

Oh Smith did have to adjust to it and slow down a little for it. No biggie. It was a nice throw.

Yeah it was a nice throw. It was way more on target than Delhomme had been all season, which wasn't at all. I can only compare the 2 this year because Moore doesn't have a large body of work to analyse.

Yeah a QB does have to put the ball in position, but it depends on where he puts it if the WR has to use more or less of his ability to get the ball. On alot of Jake's deep throws, it has come down to Smitty making the acrobatic catch whereas an above average QB would be more on target.

Moore does however have to work on his corner of the endzone throws and being sure that a defender can't make a play on the ball if a receiver has 2 defenders near him.

When I consider Jake a really good QB, I consider 03 playoffs to the 05 season. I would put him top 10 in that time period. His throws to Moose and Smith were as on target just as much as Moore's was to Smith today.

I would have been benched Jake. But some of you have revisionist history, and say Jake never was a good QB and he was just bailed out over and over, well I say bullcrap. If Jake was bailed out, so was Moore.

There you go. That what I been saying the last few weeks. I never said Jake was good this year, but at least I give him credit for some of our win over the years (like the Superbowl & '05) where some never do & make excuses like only Smitty bailed him out when our '04 injury season said otherwise.

you have to remember this is a much improved bucs team then when we first saw them. Didn't they beat the Cowboys? All I'm saying is Moore made the most of his opportunities, and John Fox still called an extremely conservative game. Moore showed us on numerous occassions that he can make the throws and once Foxy unleashes him a little bit, he'll be able to get the job done.

Really I would like to know how you guys wanted Fox to play today with a QB making his 1st start in 2 years and his 4th overall? How pissed would you guys be if he had called 35-40 pass plays and Moore had been picked 2 or 3 more times? Would you guys call Fox a dumbass for throwing too much or say "Well Moore looked like poo, he is not worth a damn when he is asked to throw a lot."?

Funny that you bring that up when Smitty did have to go up for that jump ball and make an acrobatic catch. Nice try though.

Acrobatic catch? Are you kidding me?? All he did was just reach his arms out. He hardly jump real high like a acrobatic catch look. What about that Playoffs game against the Rams? Smitty surely as hell didn't jump like that when he got a TD to win. It wasn't even a jump like Moore gave him today. Again, nice to see you will never give credit at all just because you're not happy with how Jake play so far this season, so you're going to use all excuses & lies to diss him with that "He was never that good at all here". At least I know how to give credit with truth & common sense.

Again, I'm not saying Jake is good this year before anyone jump on my back. I'm just saying some refuse to give him credit for some of our best season over the years with how some are saying "Jake could never throw that" like ever in his years as a starter here. At least just say "Jake this year could never throw like that" & I'll say nothing. :P

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with him calling a conservative game, I'm just saying once he gains confidence in Moore, we'll see his abilities as a QB, and trust me, this guy can get it done.

I know, I wasn't trying to call you out in particular, I should have noted that. I just think it is stupid all of these people are saying, "Fox should have let Moore air it out more.", when that was not the smart coaching move. If he had of asked Moore to air it out 4 more times and asked him to throw 10-15 more than he did and Moore had of thrown some INTs they would flame Fox for stupid play-calling.

    • So how about the Mondays after we lose? Because those Mondays after the Jags, Pats, and Bills games better have been run suicides until your legs fall off...
    • Saints trade WR Shaheed to Seahawks Seahawks get: WR Rashid Shaheed Saints get: 2026 fourth-round pick, 2026 fifth-round pick Seahawks' grade: A- Saints' grade: B+ One of the NFL's hottest passing teams just got better. The Seahawks currently rank third in EPA per dropback (0.25) and first in success rate on dropbacks (53%). And now they are adding Shaheed in a move that makes sense both on the field and in terms of where the Seahawks are as a franchise. Shaheed, 27, is averaging 1.8 yards per route run this season. But I think that sells him short because that number is down a bit from his career average entering this year (2.0) and he's been playing a role that includes running fewer vertical routes (34%) compared to last year (44%). Shaheed also has consistently posted above-average open scores in ESPN's receiver score metrics, including a 63 this season that ranks 28th among wide receivers. As a complement to Jaxon Smith-Njigba, I expect Shaheed will run downfield more often and be a bigger threat in that role than rookie Tory Horton was. When Cooper Kupp returns, he and Shaheed will make for a nice pair of secondary threats behind one of the best receivers in the league in Smith-Njigba. This is the time to strike for the Seahawks. FPI gives Seattle an 84% chance to make the playoffs and a 5% shot at winning the Super Bowl. This addition helps boost their chances without mortgaging their future the way the Colts did in the Sauce Gardner trade. Shaheed is a pending free agent but given the leverage of the moment for the Seahawks and their need I think they ought to be plenty willing to pay the cost. Shaheed is young enough to where if Seattle doesn't retain him he should sign a free agent contract that would yield Seattle a compensatory pick -- if the Seahawks don't nullify that pick with signings of their own. Because the Seahawks currently have $79 million in cap space next year, per OverTheCap, getting that compensatory pick is not guaranteed. The Saints are not rolling in cap space the way the Seahawks are -- and thus would land a compensatory pick for Shaheed -- but they got more draft capital this way than they otherwise would have. Considering New Orleans' 1-8 record, this should have been an easy decision.
