I’ve tempered my expectations. Even with Svech, it was unlikely we were going to win a cup this year. I do think we are set up nicely next year. After that, Dundon and Waddell have some big decisions to make.

Fire Waddell. This team was the best team all year and we didn’t do poo except add 2 fuging scrubs in ghost and pool bath. Now we look lost.  When you have a window. You double down. That piece of $hit GM fuged us by being cheap. Now the hole is massive.

Yep. Waddell counted on everyone to stay healthy, including Svech, instead of getting a big scorer at the trade which we needed to replace Pacioretty .

From the information available, we tried to make a splash at the TDL. You’re also underestimating the influence Rod has on some of these decisions. I also think the value we have on some of our prospects is a little higher than other organizations around the league. The team clearly values an extended window over mortgaging the future for now. I’m inclined to agree with them.

I’d rather have 1 cup than 3 years of playoff flameouts.

I’d rather have 10 consecutive opportunities of winning the cup than pushing all of our chips in for one slightly higher chance.

If we paid the price for a big time trade and didn’t win the cup, and the captial it cost to make that trade cost us our playoff window, you would be screaming for Waddell and Dundon’s head.

We have a good thing going. Next year, we are going to be the team with the cap space and draft picks/prospects to make the big trade. NJD/NYR/Boston/Tor are all capped out and not in a position to trade more of their future.

I’d rather win a a cup. Just being  in the conversation will put us in the playoffs. This team is toast.

    • Bryce has been playing the best ball of his career the last three games IMO. He wasn't the reason we dropped the game in NOLA. Seattle's defense will be his toughest challenge yet this season
    • I'll be at the game Sunday and up until last year I had a perfect attendance record. Now however I have seen us lose to the Chiefs (last year) and the Bills (this year). So we can no longer rely solely on my ability to pound overpriced beers to propel us to a win.
    • I haven't been able to watch Seattle on a dedicated basis but the Seahawks are a much better team by the all accounts: eye test, record and DVOA. Defensively they are sick. Best DVOA in the league first in rushing and second in passing. Offensively their passing game has been on fire this year led by JSN I can easily see this being like the Buffalo game where things just get out of hand for us early, that being said this league really is week to week and Seattle does have the disadvantage of traveling cross country for an early game.  If and big if, the Panthers are able to effectively run the ball and limit the amount of time Seattle's offense has to generate explosive plays we have a path to winning this game.  Seattle fans won't be happy to hear this but bad Darnold is always lurking in the background. He is truly an enigma to root for bc he will have an incredible throw that only a few people can make but then will turn around and throw the most bone headed pick of all time.  I think ultimately we drop this one as ultimately it's human nature to be looking forward to that week 18 game. But man how special would it be to be leaving the stadium on Sunday with a win and a miracle dolphins upset
