I've heard from a couple people on here Jim Caldwell might be the deciding vote if the staff is split of Young/Stroud.  It's a complete guess, but his expertise definitely holds a lot of weight.  He has had a hand in 4 Super Bowl winning QBs: Brad Johnson, Peyton Manning, Joe Flacco, and Matthew Stafford.  This would make you think he prefers pocket passers, but that was also the trend back when he was coaching.  Just throwing some more info out there for us to all argue over....

I think Stroud showed he's not just a pocket passer and next to AR at the combine he looked really buff and not small compared to AR.

He's still in the NFL, still a better prospect than Zach OR Bryce who at 6'5" 240lbs of country strong he could probably bench press.

Bryce Young IS the bluff.

 

 

He's dropping. He knows it. He tried to game the system when the front runners did not. They were honest as QBs they threw, they weighed in when asked.

Knee dude. If he didn't push it and healed up, played the next year maybe he'd still be with the CHAMPS or in the NFL like he was.

Even if we know who we want there's zero competitive advantage to letting that be known right now and the NFL would greatly prefer to keep some intrigue to the #1 overall pick for viewership.
