Panthers WR options next season.

Depending on what it would cost in terms of picks or personnel, I'd like to inquire as to what the Cards want for Boldin. He has been pissed off there for 2 years and still put up probowl numbers both years. Its pretty clear that he does not expect to be back to play out the last year of his contract next year. He is a beast, and perfect compliment to Smitty, tough possession receiver, with great hands, who will go across the middle and demand double teams.

I think Golden Tate is the best WR in the 2010 draft, but I can promise you that the Panthers either won't have a high enough draft pick, or if they do, would spend it on a better position (QB or DE/DT).

Depending on how Tate does in the combine and all, I think he'll easily be a top 15, if not higher. Panthers won't get themselves up there to jockey for him.

I'm with some of you other guys. I wonder if the Panthers could/would try to talk to the Cardinals about Boldin. He needs new life with a new team.

I could see Boldin trying to get out of Arizona at all costs. As soon as Kurt Warner retires and Leinart takes over, their passing game is going to go to poo. Boldin is already angry about his involvement in the offense, when he has one of the most prolific passers in NFL history throwing to him. No way lowly Matt Leinart is going to satisfy him. We'd have to spend some big bucks to get him though.

To add a few more things about Demaryius Thomas. Coming out of Georgia Tech's offense, the guy knows how to block, and is built to do so well. He would be the perfect compliment to our running game, and is easily the best replacement for Moose when it comes to run blocking. He's 6-3 230 lbs and is not easily matched up with by puny cornerbacks or safeties.

He's bigger than Andre, and T.O. There wont be any safeties or corners that will match up with him. He's just a freak of nature. If he decide to enter, I'm going on an offseason rant to trade up to get him

    • First, am I wrong? I looked back over all his posts here and I didn't see anything positive other than Shough. Second, pretty sure if you had read the post I was responding to, you would have seen CRA made poo personal as well . You just choose to address me instead of him. Not sure why?????
    • I wanted XL but I felt he should have been a 2nd rounder but I understand the logic trading up just to get the option. A safety net for your gamble.    Certainly disappointed with his receivers development but i like his down field blocking and I imagine that's what's keeping him on the field.
    • Pretty sure it is a given Young lacks typical QB size and strength and he is here simply because his other attributes more than make up for it. My point is not to indicate anyone "settled" for him but rather to remind people that there have been plenty of big, strong QB's that have not lived up to expectations. Jamis Winston, Anthony Richardson, Trey Lance, JaMarcus Russel are a few examples. They all have the physical attributes coveted by teams and yet none have had sustained success in the NFL. And yes, there are QBs that do have both but there aren't many and some of the ones still playing were failures with their early teams. Saying Young is a bust simply based upon his size (and I do think it is as simple as that for a few guys around here) is unfair to both him and the team.
