Stewart gassed or in pain?

Don't be surprised when hes dealt this off-season. I think Dwills crazy field awareness is harder to replace then Stewarts physical abilities. You can find powerbacks all day long in late 2nd day of the draft that would be perfect complements to Dwill.

All day long? That's why there are so many great power backs with the speed and moves Stewart has?

Cool story bro.

I said Powerback not a Stewart. I think Stewart is an excellent back but unneeded and if we can get a 1st I think it would be worth it. I think Dwill is a once in a decade type back, think Barry Sanders. Let us not forget how Stewart consistently has some kind of nagging injury, its not kept him out of games yet but how long till it does.

We don't need a Stewart. All we need is a good power back to change the pace and wear out D's early in games. Sure I would love to be two all-pros deep at every postion but its not feasible in todays NFL. Especially when your already giving 17 mill to one player.

Yes I noticed that he gave out on a couple of long runs. This is not the first game that this has happened to him in. I know that he doesn't practice as much as every one else, but he needs to get a grip on this, and then again - he did run for over 200 yards.

You also have to remember that Stewart is not used to getting more than 10-15 carries a game. Combine that with the fact that he only practices a couple times a week, and it's pretty understandable that he would be gassed in a game like that.

He was pretty exhausted, I'm sure. Looking at the video seem to imply he was getting tired out from that 52 yards. I wonder if his bulkness slow him down too with keeping the energy up. Having a lot of muscles can make you tiring when you're running fast with how it weights more than fats.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
