Best World War 2 airplane fighter game?

I need to know for a friend what is the best World War 2 airplane fighter game out there for xbox 360 or PS3.

Blazing Angels 1 was a decent game

My brothers in the air force so obviously he's played a fighter game or two.

One of the best games for the PC was IL 2: Sturmovik(sp?), they made a game for 360 and PS3 I believe. That will be your best bet. Blazing angels sucks.

Of course, there is Warhawk for the PS3. But it's not WWII and it's multiplayer only. It's one of the best multiplayer games made though.

I miss the days of real flying sims for the PC. Janes WWII was the last really good one I played I think.

I remember Falcon v 1.0 on my old Tandy 1000EX in 4 color (black was a color) glory....

I have IL-2 Sturmovik for the PS3. Good game. Definitely worth the $$.

Really fun game. I have played the demo dozens of times, and it's still top of the rotation when I only have about 20 minutes to burn.

My only complaint is that the learning curve is very steep between the Arcade and Realistic modes. I can dominate in Arcade to the point where I can earn a perfect score without breaking a sweat in Arcade, but when I bump it up to Realistic looking for more of a challenge, I can't even make a turn without stalling and crashing (which is the reason I haven't bought it yet).
