Your Ideal Draft

Carolina Crazy V2

What direction would go with the draft this year? I feel there's a few different routes, depending on what happens this offseason. I doubt the Panthers front office will follow this direction, but hey, its nice to dream.

Let's say that all starters are retained(except Vincent) and Delhomme retires.

Rd.1 - Traded to SF

Rd.2 - Golden Tate/WR/Notre Dame

He may have to slip a few picks, but with WRs, you never know. Think of the 2008 draft. He's a lot like Steve Smith, he even contains the same passion.

Rd.3 - Tyson Alualu/DL/Cal

Great against the run and although he is not a developed pass rusher, could see some time in our rotation as a rookie in the case of an injury. Primarily a DT but he can also slide out to DE.

Rd.4 - Ted Larsen/OL/North Carolina State

He's a sleeper in this draft and would provide a solid backup behind Ryan Khalil that we dont have currently. He also has experience playing guard.

Rd.5 - Traded to KC

Rd.6 - John Jerry/OL/Mississippi

Just a monstrous linemen who has good potential as a run-blocker. He is on the slow side, but can occupy multiple defenders at the LOS.

Rd.7 - Tim Hiller/QB/Western Michigan

I refer you to: http://www.carolinahuddle.com/forum/carolina-panthers/27024-late-round-ufa-qb-options.html

Just to back up Matt Moore.

Let's see yours...

Rd 2: Ndamukong Suh DT

Rd 3: Jimmy Clausen QB

Rd 4: Eric Berry S

Rd 5: Dez Bryant WR

Rd 6: Rolando McClain LB

Rd 7: Joe Haden CB

My ideal draft.

(I'll update with a serious one later lol)

Talk about a DREAM draft (Would be mine as well). Every guy there is going round 1.

Rd 2: Brian Price DT (UCLA): We need a 3 tech that can bring interior pressure. He is in my opinion second only to Suh (which I wouldn't pay that much for him anyway).

Rd 3: John Skelton QB (Fordham): Huge frame and arm (think Flacco) and has improved every year he has been at Fordham. I like to see that out of any QB that I consider to be draftable.

Rd 4: Riley Cooper: Everytime I see this guy play he impresses me. He is one of the best blocking WR in the draft. He has deceptive speed and has a solid set of hands.

Rd 6: Legarrette Blount RB (OU): IMO as far as talent he is one of the best in the draft. He is a load to bring down at 6'2" 240 lbs and has a lot of the same playmaking that made Stewart so successful at OSU. I think he actually would be better in our O then Stew (he is a more powerful runner). He has character issues but at this point in the draft the risk is worth it. This is assuming either Stew or Dwill get traded (Stew most likely).

Rd 7: Aaron Webster SS (Cin): This guy is one of the most underrated players in football. He has great size 6'2" 215 and he uses that size very well in the running game. He is also very good in coverage which is where we need help at the SS positon. They lost every single player in there secondary to the NFL this year (except him) and they still went undefeated in the reg season thats saying something.

Any chance The Golden Calf of Bristol lasts until our pick in the second round? I know about the Heisman jinx, but danm he was nearly flawless last night and you can't argue with the kid's college record. I really want DL in the second, but if The Golden Calf of Bristol is still there I think we'd be stupid not to take the kid.

Cooper is not projected to go until the 5th-7th round.
