This is the first I have heard of this, anyone else heard any resemblance of this rumor???

Among the buzz in Seattle during another woeful season is centered around the questions of who will be at the helm in 2010. But that goes deeper than just one spot. The team needs a new general manager, and that GM could prefer to let Jim Mora go and hire his own guy. And that new head coach could prefer to start over at quarterback as soon as possible, which would also spell the end for Matt Hasselbeck in Seattle.

While it's not common for a coach to get just one year, the Hawks have nine wins in two years after winning nine or more for four straight seasons, and if they had a chance to to grab Bill Cowher or John Gruden out of the broadcast booth this offseason, passing just to be "fair" to Mora would seem foolish.

But what about the QB position? The Seahawks have two first-round picks in April, giving them ample chances to draft the heir apparent and giving Hasselbeck another year isn't out of the question by any means. The free agent route isn't likely unless Hasselbeck is released or traded, but there's also the idea that Hasselbeck, in the final year of his contract next year, could restructure that final year's salary to help the team's cap situation and give him some more guaranteed money and an extra year while the young QB comes in and learns the system.

can't see it myself, but you never know. Matt has taken the blame for a beat up and inconsistent O-line. I personally think he's still a great qb and would like to have him back for one or two more years. I, like many many other hawk fans would love to see Mora gone instead.

    • He’s also 21 years old. I don’t know why fiz is so eager to label him a bust
    • It’s wild to me that so many of you guys are threatened by the idea of an opposing team fan who is polite in 2025. He’s been posting here on and off for years, usually when our teams play each other which hasn’t been for a while. I’d maybe understand this treatment if it was a falcons or saints fan, but packers fans in general are one of the nicer fan bases as long as you aren’t another NFC north team (especially the bears).
    • Some players excel on the big stage, while others freeze and succumb to the pressure. I’m not convinced Cam took a dive. I think he didn’t handle the stage very well. The pressure got to him and he folded. He wouldn’t be the first quarterback or player to struggle in a Super Bowl. Two HOF examples - John Elway and Jim Kelly. The 2002 MVP, Rich Gannon, threw 5 interceptions against the Bucs. Poor performances happen.  Unless of course you believe all these players threw the games they played in, but if that occurred, surely someone by now would have admitted taking a dive? 🤷‍♂️
