Is Kurt Warner a HOFer???

First off I say without a doubt yes. His numbers are outstanding, hes won a SB, 2 time MVP, etc. I keep hearing he has to win another SB, but I tend to disagree. I also just heard that Warner will likely retire after this season. Which is very likely considering his injuries this year, and his advanced age (hes not Favre--but a better QB imo). Thoughts?

My opinion was no until I read this-

NFL records

2nd Highest Average Passing Yards Per Game, Career (Min. 100 games) - 260.4 yards/game (Peyton Manning is first)[32]

Highest completion percentage in a single game (regular season) - 92.3% (24/26) (9/20/09) [33]

Most Yards Passing, Super Bowl (Game) - 414 yards vs. Tennessee Titans (only QB to pass for 400+ yards in the Super Bowl; also owns 2nd and 3rd highest yardage total in Super Bowl with 377 against the Pittsburgh Steelers and 365 against the New England Patriots). [34][35]

Most Yards Passing, Super Bowl (Career) - 1,156 yards.

Most Yards Passing, Playoffs (Single Season) - 1,147 yards (in 2009).

Most touchdown passes in a single postseason - 11 (in 2009, tied w/Joe Montana, who did it in 1990).

Highest career completion percentage, Playoffs - 66.5%

2nd Highest career passer rating, Playoffs - 104.6 (Bart Starr is first)

Highest Rate of Games w/300+ Yards Passing (Min. 100 games played) - 45.2% (47/104)[36]

Most Consecutive Games w/300+ Yards Passing - 6 (tied w/ Steve Young and Rich Gannon)[37]

Most Games with a perfect Passer Rating, Career (regular season only) - 3 (tied w/Peyton Manning and Ben Roethlisberger)[38]

Only NFL quarterback to throw 40 touchdowns and win a Super Bowl in the same season (1999).

One of only 5 players in NFL history to throw for more than 300 yards at least 50 times. Warner did it in 113 games, also a record.

Only quarterback to throw for over 14,000 yards with two different teams.(Arizona Carinals, St. Louis Rams)

One of only 2 players in NFL history to throw 100 touchdown passes with two different teams.(Fran Tarkenton is the other)

At age 37, Warner became the oldest quarterback to throw for 30 touchdowns in a season (2008).-broken by Brett Favre in 2009 at age 40

Tied Dan Marino as the fastest player to pass for 30,000 yards. He accomplished this in 114 games.

Tied Johnny Unitas with 4 consecutive games with a passer rating over 120 (against Brett Favre and the 10-1 Vikings on 12/6/2009)

Highest Average of 329.4 passing yards on MNF (min 7 games)

all the voters need to read it as well.

Anyone who has followed football for at least 7-10 years should know he is easily a future.

He had like 6 bad/mediocre seasons before resurfacing with the Cards as a starter which is what was sticking out in my mind and how quickly I forgot his playoffs excellence.

Stats don't lie though. even with his bad years, he's still one of the best.

    • Kalkbrenner and Sion James received regular contracts and not two ways, so the Hornets have some work to do to cut the roster size down.
    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
