Will we not know the QB situ until the draft or...

maybe even mid-camp?

panthers.com is trying to cover it it up with their new article 'QB review' article that's CRAP imo, and just a waste of a read.

Reading between the lines and remembering Fox is staying makes me think the panthers still don't know who to start which is really starting to freak me out...every day it seems most more likely Jake will be back.

Well I assume if we use our very first pick in the draft on a QB instead of a WR we aren't looking Jake's way...so camp or not I think that will tell us. Although that still leaves us with Fox, Jake and Matt.

so if one of those two is to start should that not be released soon?

or are we going to make both QBs think teh panthers have no confidence in them until gametime?

Why would we know before training camp or preseason. Isn't the purpose of the preseason to establish the starters? One of things people always complain about is that there isn't any competition in training camp and people are just giving the starters roles whether they deserve it or not. Now when that is what Fox wants to do, people whine and complain because Moore hasn't been named the starter 6 months before hand.

Answer this question? Do you think players try harder and work more when they are in a competition for their jobs or when they are handed the role no matter how they perform?

Anyone think Godfrey coming back and playing so much better was because Martin did so well when he was substituting for Godfrey.

If you think about it for anytime you will clearly see that competition should happen across the board at all positions every year.

With this being Fox's last year expect everyone to be fighting for a job and the competition to be intense this summer.

What 55 said. And I'm pretty sure that Panthers.com isn't trying to cover anything up.

Totally agree. Expecting Panthers.com to say anything negative about the team is ridiculous. It is the team's website and the articles and material are going to be skewed postively toward the team. That is the point. I expect their motto is if you can't say anything nice, you say nothing at all.

Knowing Fox it will be a "game time decision".....

Haha true... Thats one thing I wish would change about Carolina... as a fan you never know whats going on with the team, you never hear about them on espn or anything. It will be awhile before you know who's the starter... Moore deserves it but it could be Delhomme... who knows but I'm thinking Moore will start.

For us to even think Delhomme has a shot at starting again because we haven't declared Moore the starter yet just shows how much of a joke Fox is to still contemplate starting a guy who was the worst starting QB last season or Moore who completely blew him out of the water.

First of all, let's hope all get threu the preseason healthy! If Moore insn't hurt in that, he's GOTTA start! I can't imagine Jerry R. not getting involved if that doesn't happen. Jerry R. is 'getting up there' in years. I'm sure he wants to exit with a ring. I don't think Jake provides that chance anymore as a starter. If Jake is Moore's backup, I think that can work. But what an expensive backup he would be!

    • I meant write off in the entire class being absolute garbage and that being on Dan  FA was pretty solid but Dan and Brandt handing out one big terrible contract to Turk Wharton. Milton was their top target and the pivot from Milton to Turk while paying Turk what they did was insane.  Id LOVE to know had we not paid Turk what type of contract he would’ve received. 3/30 mayyyybe? This is someone Brandt obviously vouched for.  I’ve watched a few of Tilis’ interviews now. One with Jourdan and one with Yates. He’s a big Moneyball fan. Giving Turk the deal they gave him is the complete opposite of the whole Moneyball idea. They paid a dude who they saw some potential in money that you’d pay someone that has actually made an impact  The worst part is that he’s 100% here next year too. That contract keeps him here until 2027 for sure
    • Are you kidding? They just now figured out they could use someone else for a qb sneak.
    • The biggest problem is that his upward trend is still well below NFL average. At some point there's just too much evidence to ignore. I've been there for awhile now. Honestly, it only took a handful of games for me to realize that he just had too many physical limitations to overcome to ever be a legitimate starter. I get that the organization couldn't afford to pull the plug that quick after that investment but there's absolutely no way we should've gone into year three without legitimate competition on the roster. We always a year behind kn this Bryce thing. This year should've been the legit competition year and this offseason should've been the moving on point. Hopefully we'll play catch up but I expect the trend to cj tinge and next year will be the vet competition year.
