Another Matt Moore Article (Panthers.com)

Give me one example of when Hurney told Dayton what to have written on panthers.com. The writer was simply giving moore props for what he did. I doubt hurney would stop this article from being written just to protect jake nor would he care. I seriously doubt you ever worked for the organization anyway.

When we opened with the Falcons that one year, every interview was about Vick, so I had to write my stories around those quotes. Dayton told me the other side of the building was sick and tired of reading about Vick on our site. So no more Vick stories that week.

Every year on final cut day, Hurney prohibits the website from releasing the final cuts until late in the day. Doesn't want the other teams to get a jump start on the players the Panthers are hoping they can keep on the practice squad.

That enough for you?

WRONG! That is signs that they are willing to have a competion and that there wouldnt be any friction between the two. It doesnt mean they are leaning towards Moore at all. Like I said, Ill beleive it when I see it.

No, you are wrong.

Mason explicitly said that Moore will be fine as starter in 2010. Mason then also agreed that Delhomme will be able to cope with the transition to back up. At no point do they even mention there would be a competition, there was no mention of Delhomme being able to bounce back.

Face facts. They discussed two things. How Moore will (yes they used this word) be as a starter in 2010 and how Delhomme would cope with that.

The starting gig is Moore's to lose bud.

They prohibit the entire media from releasing that kind of information. Them telling the website not to release it too means absolutely nothing. What players did hurney tell you to hype up and not to hype up is what I want to know.

Nobody cares what you think, you are absolutely worthless. But since you are determined to litter your garbage over and over, I would like to know something. Are you THINKING Moore won't be the starter or are you SAYING Jake will? I mean, just to prove you wrong again, we don't wont to have this little misunderstanding of the "I thinks" vs "I says" again. We know u like to sidestep around your deficiencies when proven wrong but I like to rub it in. Obviously you are too stupid to get pretty much anything, so I am saying you will have an ignorant response but we are just use to that already.

Now, when the time comes, I can bring up your response and rub your ugg mugg all in it like a pile of shiit, as already been done in this thread. Just admit it, you are either a Stains fan or Falcons fan that has so little going on in life,(especially in mommies basement), that this is your highest form of social interaction and it amuses you to piss people off with your ignorance.

No, you definitely care what I think thats why you're so damn obsessed with me and what I have to say. :D

Ill say it again, its Jakes to job to lose.

He said he would be a fine starter. He never said he WOULD be the starter. HUGE difference! Masons opinion has nothing to do with what Hurney and Fox are thinking.

I hope you're right. But the coaching staff is going to give Jake every chance to keep his job and you can bet your ass they want him to "win" it in the worst possible way.

What players did hurney tell you to hype up and not to hype up is what I want to know.

He never told me to hype up anybody. In fact, in seven years there I probably had five conversations with Marty, and all of those in the last year.

I had to write 10-12 stories per week during the season. I learned early not to write about anyone that was struggling. Those stories got the Japanese lettuce inspection treatment...they stayed on Charlie's desk for days. So I gravitated toward the safe interviews (Minter, Rucker) and the guys who hadn't screwed up in a while. And if there was a sensitive issue, such as Jake Delhomme last year, I knew better than to promote the backup unless word came from Charlie that it was fair game.

The organization protects the players. Remember Hot Potato? We had one with DeShaun Foster and Keary Colbert, it was up on the site all of five minutes because Foster and Colbert had fumbled the ball the previous week.

One of the reasons Bill Rosinski was let go is because he had a live microphone. If the Panthers struggled, he said so to all the fans.

They are the last to release info because they slack. Do you really think other teams go to an official team website to get their info on cuts? These types of things go to the league first, and that where teams get their info.

Trust me, we used that argument. He wanted us to wait anyways.

Thats all I needed to know. So Hurney has no imput whatsoever on whats written on the site. There is not one team site where they allow the writers to write about a struggling player on the roster. I doubt that order comes from the HC or the GM either. Thats just kind of common sense.

Rosinski's firing came because of JR. Hurney and Fox had nothing to do with that either. In fact Rosinksi has said he still friends with them.

Gayman, I have your worthless ass on ignore. However, I continue to be forced to read your worthess posts because people keep quoting you.

Please understand you are not witty...)Ou are not humorous...you are not informed...you are a pathetic person whose whole life is so sad that being abused here is the highlight of your otherwise insignificant life.

That is all.

Hatter--Gayman is a miserable little fine young male, with NO life, that loves attention. He doesn't care that he's the subject of abuse, something he is used to,as long as he thinks he is getting the attention he craves.

With his limited knowledge concerning what is going on around him,he fails to realize this.

"Gayman is a pathetic person whose whole life is so sad that being abused here is the highlight of his otherwise insignificant life." Agreed!

Good grief there are some dense people on here! The idiots outnumbering insightful people are why I rarely come on anymore. I completely agree with the OP that direction must have been given that it was okay to move forward with Moore articles.

I wish I could find the ignore function via my blackberry.

Craft: "...<waffle>...Now this is definitely a tale of two quarterbacks."

Mason "Absolutely and in the last month Matt Moore wasn't just good for the Panthers he ranked up with the league leaders in a lot of catagories...<waffle>..."

Mason: "He was exactly what we want, in a ball control offense, to be."

Craft: "Well now the question arises, about Matt Moore. Can he be 'that' guy going into the 2010 season...<waffle>...what do you think Andrew?"

Mason: "I think he can be the guy...<waffle>...And I think he can be 'that' guy for the next year and even for the long term future."

Craft: "Well there has been a lot of talk about Jake Delhomme and his future with the team, and one of the major questions is, can you have Jake Delhomme? Will he be a back up? And I am going to tell you, if there is a guy that is classy enough to take that back up role and really work and help this team, is Jake Delhomme. Because he is definitely a leader in the locker room and Jake is a leader without question, whether he's a starter, whether he's a back up I think he can help this team"

Mason: "Absolutely...<waffle>...Jake is a, team. First. Player. And he's also a very smart individual, and being a back up quarterback, if that is his future in the NFL, that's not necessarily a bad thing, that's a pretty good way to stay involved. And there's a long list of pretty good, pretty successful quarterbacks who have successfully transitioned being back up quarterbacks"

Craft: "One thing we know about Jake Delhomme, he will go down fighting"

First, all they mention about Moore, is that he was among the leagues best, he can be the guy for next season and potentially beyond and that he continues to grow as a quarterback.

Second, they continually mention that it is 'acceptable' for a starter to become a back up, almost lessening the social blow Delhomme might feel. They at no point say he is in the running for the starter job.

Third, the final comment on Craft actually indicates that Jake was to win his job back. Suggesting they already view Moore as the starter.

Finally, if there is smoke there is fire. The Panthers simply would not have put this out if they were not considering Matt as the starter and Jake as the back up. Otherwise the whole segment would have been flipped on its head, saying that Jake can bounce back and that Matt is a team player and will continue to be a grea insurance policy.

You said Hurney polices everything that goes out on Panthers.com...So if Mason thinks it, it has to get approval from the man upstairs...
