Sinus infections

Anyone ever had one of these beauts? I'm just getting over what I believe is my first one. First three days it was like the worst head cold of my life, but then it wasn't going away. My teeth would hurt. My left eyeball would hurt (not the eye itself, but everything around it). So then I'm thinking I've got the damn flu. Not a good thing when your health insurance has run out.

For seven days, my ears wouldn't pop. It was like I was on an airplane that whole time. Then for three more they would pop in and out. They're finally popped most of the time right now.

Then one of my facebook friends is a lower respiratory specialist and he tells me I've got a sinus infection. Just blew my nose...out of the right side, clear stuff comes out. Out of the left, where my eye hurts, dark yellow.

Weird stuff, man.

Everyone I know has had that same thing in the last month or so. Been brutal...takes about 2 weeks to clear up. I am still not at 100% yet. Try all the over the counter stuff you want, it really don't work IMO. I started with Mucinex and went on to trying almost everything else also. If it is a true sinus infection (which is what it sounds like), you need an antiboitic. If you have a cold, then it just needs to run its course.

A lot of docs won't give anti-biotics for sinus infections now... trust me, I've tried. Every time they give me one it clears it right up though...

Used to get them yearly around Nov.-Dec. due to allergies before I started taking daily meds for them. Of course, I then stopped taking them this winter and got a nice sinus infection that just started clearing up the last few days.

Best advice? Take a drill, some whiskey, and go to town.

It's not like they're full, though. I might as well ride it out at this point. Only remnants of it are the soreness around my eye and my right ear keeps popping in and out.

Weirdest cold I've ever had if it was just a cold.

On second thought....when I worked for NASCAR we all went to Japan for a week, and we all came back with this crap that lasted two weeks. Maybe this is some Asian gunk going around?

    • Yeah, if you tune in for any of the remainder of the season you will get what you're asking for. Nobody but yourself to blame. This is a sports franchise of losers, for losers.
    • Here is my take, go ahead and roast me, I'm ok with it, I know where I am. I'm not ready to throw in the towel just yet. I will wait until week 4 or 5 before I entertain that option. This game I blame on the coaching staff. Their failure to give reps to the first team during the preseason was reflected in this game. Lets just call this what it is... our preseason warm up game. You could see that the whole team was flat in the first half. Every aspect of the game, the basic fundamentals. Mental errors, missed tackles, timing on routes, they were not ready for this game. Jacksonville is not a great team but you could clearly see their energy level surpassed ours. I do have to give credit to our defense. They did hang in there and kept competing through 4 quarters (minus the 71 yard run). The way our offense played it's a wonder Jacksonville didn't put 40 on us. Positives I saw, (I know, I know), but come on, we still have 16 games. TMAC IS that guy!! Chuba looked good, and overall, our O-line looked good. As bad as Bryce looked at times I do feel like we're a step or two away from connecting with our WR corps. There were plays to be made that were JUST off by a step or two (again, I know). We have talent at WR, we have talent on offense. To me, this game just looked like a team that was not mentally prepared for NFL week one, and less, "oh my god, we're the same old Panthers". Now I get it... a lot of this hinges on Bryce Young and his confidence. If he can erase this and focus on building continuity with these receivers I honestly think we're not going to suck as bad as we did today. XL... IDK, the jury with him is still out, but there is no doubt the kid has mega potential. Our defense, honestly, considering we have a bunch of new guys on that side, they held their own considering the offense could never change the momentum of the game. I am as disappointed as everyone else at another week one poor performance. But I also realize we are STILL rebuilding. Lets just take it week by week right now and see if we have ANY talent that rises to the surface. Because I really do not know what we have talent wise. And that is not just limited to the QB. So, we will see, but I'm not going to call it just yet... just my take. Now fire away! lol
    • Well for one, what other realistic choice is there? Barring a season ending injury, Bryce is the guy for this year. Next year all options are open, but there aren't any other real world solutions for the 2025 season.
