If State could make the tournament I could see them having a long run. They have a post presence in Burns. If guys could hit 3's they a have team that could advance very far.

Not sure they can win the ACC tournament though, so they likely won't get in.

If Burns dropped 40 or 50 pounds he'd be a real player. Hell, he could probably afford to lose 80. The dude is good. He's just fat.

I've said it before and will say it again, Bacot is a really good college player, but he's not a modern NBA big.

Nope. And it's great for us. And great for him now with NIL.

I'd recruit all the Armando Bacots and RJ Daviss I could get. Cadeau is another one. Give me all those really good college players who are going to give me 3-4 years over the one and doners.

I don't give a single fug about the NBA game so I don't care.

It's so obvious what we need to be doing against this team. Feed Bacot.

Hubert has done a much better job this year but his next step as a HC is to get better at exploiting advantages. We tend to just kinda do what we do regardless of the opponent. When you have a clear advantage in a game play through that advantage.

I'd rather see the guys play 3-4 years of college too, but it doesn't work that way for the big name players anymore. They want to be in the NBA and getting paid.

I get it. That's why I'm more than happy to let the dukes and Kentuckys have them for a year. I'll take the RJs and Bacots.

    • I just dont get the worry over losing a practice squad player that just went undrafted. Everyone just made their selections. The chances of a team wanting to sign him to an active roster after not selecting him is very low.  If that interested they would have taken him late to evaluate in person. As far as I can tell two qbs were signed off another teams practice squad last season and they were both going in to their 5th season.
    • I enjoyed reading this thread and the usual banter that follows. The only silver lining I can identify right now is we do actually have a couple of young QB's behind him and we do have a nice roster on both sides of the ball built around the most important position. So if the team overall shows some promise but we still falter largely due to a lack of consistent passing output (again) hopefully the decision makers can be free to make the best decision for the team going forward after the conclusion of this upcoming season.
    • I don't really follow the team anymore due to a variety of reasons and consequently have largely stopped posting but I agree that this is a lovely website and community. This forum probably kept me around for years longer than I would've stuck otherwise because of how difficult it was to stop checking multiple times a day. Especially appreciate how lax the moderation tends to be compared to a lot of places, the crew here does a great job. Out of curiousity I decided to try making a new account (solely for testing purposes) to see what exactly is wrong with the sign up process. The issue seems to be that it never sends you an account verification email, thus making it impossible to complete registration. This is likely something to do with the email server upstream, hope it gets fixed. Also, lol
