I hope David Tepper is aware of a basic truth

Tepper purchases Panthers for 2.275 Billion in 2018.

As of 2023 the Panthers are valued at 4.1 Billion.

In 5 years Tepper is up 80% on a multi billion dollar principal.

How many capital investment environments allow you to position that large of a principal and net 16% average annual percentage increase?

Now what is that we are saying about Tepper being aware of a basic truth?

and he paid straight cash for it, no loans, no interest so that makes this investment that much more valuable

I've said for years, the Panthers are pure investment and diversification for Tepper.  Sports franchise have proven to be a great place for the uber wealthy to diversify and grow their wealth.  That is why Tepper is here.

The actual football team? That's just the toy/fun bonus of it.

    • Question to the posters on this thread because you are knowledgeable--I love watching and pull for the Canes, but I never played so I don't have the understanding I had when I played football then watched it.  Having said that, Do you think we are weak at Center?  I see the team to be pretty strong on the wings, promising defense, and weak at Goalie.  It would be ideal if the Canes had 1 more position to upgrade, not 2.  I don't think you can count on Anderson to play a full season and he is 35.  However, are we solid at Center in your view?
    • Couldn't agree more, Kooch is erratic and Freddy is fragile, maybe save the remaining cap space for a goalie stud at the deadline
    • There is one play that sold me-- it was around 2:38, I think.  It was 4th and 1 and the QB telegraphed and threw the ball out wide to TMac.  He had no blocking (the TE was very late) and four defenders collapsed on TMac behind the LOS. They seemed to know it was coming.  He got hit behind the LOS and battled through several hits to get three yards.  THAT play showed me his fire.
