The Hurt Locker

I saw it last night actually. Not a bad movie. Fairly entertaining if not a bit unorthodox that all of the notable actors in the film (Ralph Fienes, Guy Pierce) get killed almost as soon as they come on screen. And Evangeline Lilly is in it too.

Towards the end the story drags a bit and it gets a bit convoluted in a few scenes, but it is entertaining. Not sure why it's up for any Oscars; maybe it's a slow year.

The whole running through downtown Baghdad at night isn't exactly reality. The whole getting drunk part was Hollywooded up...combat zones are all under General Order 1.

"Up" should win, based on the 2 of the 10 movies I have seen. I don't think "The Hurt Locker" or "Inglorious Basterds" will be off of wait in time.

they expanded the field from 5 to 10 this year. Basterds deserves it more than Blindside.
