Armanti Edwards is very slight of frame but he might throw the best of any QB that's scheduled to throw in Indy.

Just thought this was interesting. Granted, there is a reason he is a "former" scout. I wouldn't hate if we took him in the later rounds. But I am biased.

My biggest personal concern of Armanti is not his size, speed, arm strength, or even his durability. I am very worried about his ability to digest an NFL playbook and his abilities to make micro-second decisions under pressure. Because those abilities are what separates the average and the greats. But maybe he can pull a Dennis Dixon and make it on a roster and one day get a chance.

I think adapting to a pro-style offense from the spread would be his biggest hurdle at QB. I have no concern with his decision making capabilities in game situations.

my buddy at app tutored him in econ I think and said the guy is dumb as a brick. Mental concerns are well placed but notice he does say he looks the best of anyone throwing at the combine. Most of the better qbs are waiting until their pro days to throw.

I was comparing two players that have very similar skill sets and styles. The fact that they are black is irrelevant to me.

There are just not many, if any, players who have similar skill sets to Armanti that are white.

Maybe you're right -- sorry if I came dangerously close to playing the race card. You're right that they're similar players. I guess my problem is when black quarterbacks that are pocket passers are compared to more mobile players -- but since I guess that's not the case here, I'll concede that they do have similar skillsets.

Oh yeah, no problem man. I know what you mean. I find it annoying as well when people do that.

I remember when people would compare McNabb, Vick and Steve McNair. Idiots. These players had little in common besides race.

As an ASU alum, I wouldn't touch him with with any thoughts of being a QB whatsoever. MAYBE very late just to see what can be done as a general weapon/athlete. I just don't see it though.

I see him being used like Brad Smith in NY. Part-time WR, part-time wildcat QB.
