Anyone that we should want as our coach would have to demand some assurance that the Teppers (wife included) are not involved in decisions on personnel.

If they don’t demand that, I don’t believe they can turn this around

You can demand it all you want, but we all know he'll back out for a couple of weeks and then get right back involved again. Even if he violates the contract and has to pay it off, there'd be enough NDA involved that your career trajectory would still be taking a nosedive. Poor decision making in taking a job can be just as damning as the job itself.

I mean put it in the contract…either way this person has to be a strong personality.  I mean Bill Parcells had to fight hard for this in his time in Dallas and he is a legend.  It’s tough

    • Care to elaborate why you disagree? We kicked the ball off 3 times and we kept the Browns to starting field position of the 22, 27, and 10 (would have been 21 before a penalty). All 3 of those are successes with the modern kickoff rule.
    • Its August so obviously quality options are not there. The question is whether any improvement can be made to the bottom of the depth chart.
    • NFL has a huge amount of parity.  The talent level between most NFL starters outside of the top 5 to 10 guys at a position is very comparable.  2020 worst teams Jacksonville Jaguars - 1-15 (worst record in NFL) New York Jets - 2-14 Cincinnati Bengals - 4-11-1 Atlanta Falcons - 4-12 Houston Texans - 4-12 Carolina Panthers - 5-11 Detroit Lions - 5-11 Philadelphia Eagles - 4-11-1 Los Angeles Chargers - 7-9 Denver Broncos - 5-11 2024 Worst teams New York Giants - 3-14 (tied for worst) Cleveland Browns - 3-14 (tied for worst) Tennessee Titans - 3-14 (tied for worst) New England Patriots - 4-13 Carolina Panthers - 5-12 Jacksonville Jaguars - 4-13 Las Vegas Raiders - 4-13 New York Jets - 5-12 Chicago Bears - 5-12 Arizona Cardinals - 8-9 Bengals, Texans, Lions, Eagles, Broncos and the Jags have all made the the playoffs in the last 3 years. What I'm saying is it's stupid to argue when team is the worst when there is so much parity and the system allows quick turnarounds.
