Peppers-to-Redskins rumors go to full boil

Just like I said.....

Less than two hours until the start of free agency, rumors are flying that the Washington Redskins will soon be signing defensive end Julius Peppers.

And we're hearing that the situation has progressed well beyond the Redskins "charging hard." We're hearing it's essentially done -- and that barring an unexpected development the only question is whether the deal will be announced before or after the sun rises in D.C.

There was a guy on here 2 years ago that claimed he knew Julius' brother or his aunt's cousin's 2nd cousin's uncle's grandma's baby daddy's brother that said Pep told someone he grew up a Skins fan and dreamed about playing for them and would be going there when he became a free agent.

I been thinking about that ever since.... and it was (supposedly) JP's brother, I think. I don't care where he goes... just don't want him in our division... let him underperform for a billion on my 3rd least favorite team.. fine with me

Yeah I always thought that rumor made the most sense. As a kid, before we got the Panthers I remember everybody being a Skins fan... Plus, if it really is about the money and it's an uncapped year... Snyder will make his dreams come true.

It was me that actually posted it a couple of years ago (different account). Peppers' half brother (Stephone) was the one who told me that he would be a Skin if he ever became a free agent. He tailgated with us before a Sunday or Monday night game because he was close to one of my boys. He said that his family ripped him because he was a Panther and his room at his mom's house still had Redskins stuff everywhere.

    • Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
    • According to Scott Fowler, in an article about former Panthers announcer applying for a job with the Ravens... what that job pays, incidentally, when the Ravens posted it publicly they said the salary would be $4,000 to $5,000 per game. An NFL season consists of 20-24 games, including the preseason and potential playoff games, so it will end up somewhere between $80,000 and $120,000 a year. The person hired will be an independent contractor, which is commonplace in the NFL these days for team broadcasters, and also have other radio and TV hosting assignments.  https://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/carolina-panthers/article315839800.html
    • That’s a good find. We will see. Who is still here from when he was?
