Im happy for JP. He wanted out of Carolina and he got his wish. No hard feelings and I wish him the best til we play the Bears.

Classy post, KT

Something tells me, Pep will be back one day (just like Moose).

I don't know about that... He signed a 7 year contract, so it's not likely, but who knows?

The Bears needed a pass rusher. They paid him the money we would not. Congrats to the Bear for just improving their defense. I've never had any problem with Peppers as many others have. Do I wish he had a non stop motor? you bet, but not every player is that way.

I hope Peppers has success, cept playing the Panthers..of course.

Free agency is fools gold for teams looking for a quick fix. I'd prefer that the Panthers build through the draft and develop talent on cheap contracts as opposed to overpaying for career underachievers.

Stephen Davis, 2003, anyone?

Exactly. Ding ding ding. That is Free Agency, folks. If a team fills a need, it's one thing, if a team throws money away like a drunken sailor, they're the Redskins.

Of course you can cherry-pick exceptions, but it's funny that you had to go all the way back to 2003 to do it.

How is it funny? Is that not a Free Agent signing of the current Front Office? How about Jake Delhomme? Was he a Free Agent or draft pick? I can't help but feel that Diggs was a Free Agent before signing a few years ago. Ken Lucas, was he a Panthers draft pick? Kemoeatu? How did the Panthers acquire one Matthew Moore?

Come on, man. Free Agency is the NFL.

Jake= scrub when he arrived

Diggs=scrub when he arrived

Lucas= one good year, then bust

Kemo=way overpaid for the job he was doing

Moore= undrafted rookie that was just released following training camp

WTF are you talking about? Diggs didn't have a single season with the Panthers that measured up to what he did with the Packers.

Lucas= one good year, then bust

Lucas was actually a "name" FA pickup the season the Panthers signed him out of Seattle.

Kemo=way overpaid for the job he was doing

Yes... and?

Moore= undrafted rookie that was just released following training camp

So, he was a Free Agent after Dallas released him.

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
