Draft Needs

DE - need starter/depth, peppers made a hole

WR - need starter/depth smitty help and future replacement

LB - depth, either anderson or connor will be our starter.

CB - depth needed, return specialist.

OL - late round pick, get a big boy as usual for depth.

i could see taking a DE, WR, or LB with our fist pick depending on who's there.

We currently have:

2 OLBs with the possibility of losing both of them, and one 'tweener LB

1 MLB

2 DEs and a 'tweener LB/DE

4 DTs with the possibility of losing 2 of them

3 WRs with no proven starter opposite Smitty

I don't see how QB can be ahead of any of those, least of all LB... from a depth/talent standpoint...

yo gotta be kidding me??? Brown and Johnson can fill Peppers spot easily and if we bring back Brayton it will be like Peppers who???? Brown n Johnson generate a good rush, what we need is::

WR/KR, I dont know about you but I could care less about what people say about Jarrett, when he gets to play he is awesome n if we keep Moose, we could add young detph and a quality KR

OLB, we should sign Cato June before drafting cuz he knows are system

kidding you? no. DE is easily our number one position of NEED. we already have a 2nd round WR on this team with three seasons under his belt. if you draft another one at 1st/2nd you have ZERO confidence in him and he is a bust. its soooo unlikely that a WR steps in and makes an impact early. draft to win NOW.. Peppers is irreplaceable - accept it. we wont replace his pressure with brown and brayton. we need another young guy for depth and the future.

like i said three biggest needs are DE, WR, LB in that order (for me) feel free to disagree but there really isnt a stretch to say all three are glarring holes. at no point next year will panther fans be happy peppers is gone unless we sign two or three quality starters with his money.

obviously you never saw Brown play and you must just read the stats and think cuz of the low sack totals that brown and johnson cant get it done, but you also probably dont know we rotated DE's all year last year on the oppisite side of peppers, say what you want, but brown is a beast. Maybe a DE in the later rounds, but WR is our top need then OLB, yeah we drafted a WR in the second round 3 YEARS AGO and if he ever got a chance to play he would be a star but he sits and sits, kinda like Matt Moore huh?? Dont argue with me cuz I know out team inside and out and WR and OLB are where we are weak at, other then that we are a solid team.

I also say WR is a top need cuz now that we have Moore as out starter he spreads the ball around unlike Delhomme who only targeted Smith and the other team and now that there's more then just one WR as a target that we should get some decent depth

yes, i never watch the panthers i just post on a message board... are you retarded?

dont argue with you b/c you know the team inside and out? is this a freakin joke? are you in jr high or what?

sharing your opinions is fine, i'm ok with someone disagreeing with me. but dont spout a bunch of nonsensical ramblings in half garbled gammar about watching the games and knowing the team.

    • I do think the rating is fair given how this unit hasn’t proven it with production. I understand you have to rank off production, not potential. However, our unit is also in a position to make this rating look foolish a year from now. We have 4 guys in the WR/TE room who all could legitimately take the next step this year, and catapult our rank. A guy under a lot of people’s radar after we took Tet, Jalen Coker. Mark my words, he will become the star of this room, and be the heir to Thielen.
    • Exactly. You’d think 2-7 wins a year (in a 17 game season no less) since 2017 is going to keep us bottom tier. Every year we say the same poo like we haven’t been a bad team the past 7 years. Until we prove we aren’t a bottom dweller, that’s where we’ll stay ranked. God forbid we have OL injuries like 2016.
    • What I love and hate about this team is it’s more filled with potential breakout players than ever before. JT, XL, Coker, Smith-Wade, Ikem, Trevin… and even Bryce are all guys I could legitimately see taking the next step. But the problem with having so many of those guys is that team success somewhat relies on them taking that step, and some are bound not to. That being said, I’m cautiously optimistic given our softer schedule, the way the offense clicked late last year, and the direction we finally have at GM, coach, and QB. Could see us as a sneaky playoff team.
