Jim Sorgi for backup?

NDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Peyton Manning's understudy for the past five seasons apparently won't be back with the Colts.

Jim Sorgi's agent says his client is being released by the team.

Sorgi went on injured reserve in December due to a shoulder injury.

Sorgi has been with the team since 2004. The only other quarterbacks on the roster are former Purdue star Curtis Painter and Drew Willy, who spent most of 2009 on the practice squad.

Actually, after I said all that, I started thinking, "Maybe there's a chance he learned a little something from Manning during all of those years."

Of course, if that were the case, Indy would probably try to get him to stick around. I think Curtis Painter is probably a better option.

Why Sorgi????? We have McCown and Cantwell. I would rather have either of them over Sorgi.
