I think it’s gonna take a few games for fans to get used to seeing Deano’s style compared to Latty daddy’s. I’ve heard it said it will be less reliant on the wing play and built up more through the middle. I’m just glad our fullbacks are playing are more conventional style with width and overlapping runs vs whatever the hell that inverted mess was

Always good to get a point on the road.

Feels like we left 2 points n the board though. Copetti should finish that one as a DP and feels like Vancouver got some extra time that shouldn’t have been for that goal of theirs

Agree, but can’t be mad at picking up points on the road. As for Vancouver’s goal, Kahlina has to keep that out. The back line once again played well enough to get a clean sheet.

And if Malanda keeps playing like this then he won’t be here long, big clubs will come calling.

That was an immensely frustrating game to watch. Copetti not converting on another chance. Looked like the players kinda reverted back to Lattanzio ball in the 2nd half with lots of aimless passing with no real plan and then Insigne showing what a DP is supposed to do. We’re cursed against Toronto

didn’t we beat them last year? but yeah Copetti not converting on easy chances is becoming a regular thing and Dean Smith subbing him out tells a lot.  Wouldn’t be surprised to see Agyemang start next game.

I know we had the crazy comeback to draw in Toronto after Bernadesci pwnd us, but I thought we lost to them in CLT

Im not sure Agyemang will be much better. Dude looks like a new born giraffe out there. Like he has no idea how to move and make use of his size

True, he’s definitely not better than Copetti but at some point you have to try someone new if Copetti is going to keep missing those opportunities.

Missed yesterday’s game, what went wrong?

Also, did they mention when Abada will be ready?

Copetti missed another 1:1 with the keeper. Few other chances missed then Insigne hit a worldy for the winner in like the 85thish minute

I didn’t hear anything about Abada but idk, I could’ve missed it.

As for what went wrong, silly passes and giving the ball away easily.  Toronto never really threatened in the first half but still pushed our half at times and Charlotte kept clearing the ball at times when there were opportunities to slow it down and play off it, leadings to Toronto having a lot of possession percentage.

More of the same in the second half but even more and you know at some point Toronto was going to take advantage of that. They did, created more opportunities.

Copetti again missing goal opportunities, one on one against the goalie, let’s it get saved.

Defense still played great though.  The one goal from Insigne was crazy.

    • He is a great guy but a horrible reporter. He makes my skin crawl when I hear his name. I heard that babies cry and dogs attack him when he enters a room. Other than that he is a good dude. Now go burn in hades u sum bit.
    • The job just really passed him by. He came up when basically you just needed to get three or four quotes, toss a couple of team provided stats in there, and stretch it out to column length. you got your copy in by 330, out the door by 4, then chill/shmooze the rest of the day. If you were really good you got a book deal. Every now and then you got to write an editorial. The goal of the profession was like Peter King where ostensibly you’re a beat writer for whomever but you get paid to just shoot the poo. now it’s a 24 hour job, you’ve gotta be social media savvy, the pace has increased substantially, you’re expected to produce more than ever, you gotta be able to look through bullshit etc. there’s still risk of industry capture where you just become a mouth piece. Sheena Quick is obviously shameless. I don’t think Newton ever aspired to be more than an inoffensive beat writer, but even that relatively simple role was just more than he was cut out for. its even worse when you’re covering a team that expects the Fourth Estate to act as a PR extension, or considers them on par with buying Twitter bots to promote Bryce. there were over thirty papers that covered the panthers first training camp. In that environment there’s room for boring guys like newton, and they may even be incentivized to push the boundary a little. But today that just isn’t the case and most of the guys are hanging on until retirement (person, gantt) or they’re good and gonna be matched up like Jordan. im not defending the current state of sports journalism, just saying that what counts as a meat and potatoes beat writer passed newton by. He’s retiring well past his sell by date, but that’s pretty common for his generation in general.
