I put on for Carolina

Just bet my roomates $10 that both Matt Moore would make the pro bowl and that the Panthers would reach the playoffs. I then proceeded to purchase this jersey from the NFL shop, i plan on getting it signed and having it eventually being worth enough i can retire off it. Those who feel we are playing scared of the impending lock out, you should try to get on my level. Not only will we go to the playoffs but i'm thinking about looking into Super Bowl tickets so i can see the dominance of the Carolina Panthers in first person. Julius Peppers aint got nothing on Charles Johnson.

I like your enthusiasm but why only bet $10 & proceed to spend a lot more on a jersey? Might as well drop a c-note on the bet too.

I agree with u on us making the playoffs, but if we dnt obtain a good enough compliment receiver for smitty then I dnt believe Matt Moore will make the pro bowl (also remember that the pro bowl is based on popularity votes not entirely performance), O and u should find a better jersey to get signed cuz a signed W. Wright jersey won't get u much for ur retirement plan, yea he's a great gunner but hasn't proven to be a great receiver (ppl can argue that he has not had the playing time at the WR position to prove anything, well neither has Jarrett)

Trust me i tried, but as broke college students i could only talk ten dollars out of them. i figure the jersey costs what $299, So with four roommates owing me ten dollars a piece i will get a nice little forty dollar discount on this bad boy. Then take the future value of this piece and i plan on at least making a small profit, not to mention the luck this jersey will bring my Panthers as i wear it each and every week. Wallace Wright is going to bring the pain.

I like your enthusiasm! I'm trying to be optimistic about this myself. I know a team getting younger is a good thing, but when you watch these guys play for so long and give their all to the team, it's like having a long time girlfriend forced to be moved away to the west coast by her parents (Hoover), having to break up with a girl you really like and had high hopes for because she let herself go or because she's complacent or she just can't get it together (Jake) and the worst..... having a girl that you love leave you for some dude that's loaded (Peppers). May be a bad, somewhat gay analogy but that's how I feel.

You're gonna feel stupid when we draft my boy The Golden Calf of Bristol, and Wright has to give up no. 15! :D:D:D

    • This is gonna be longest six weeks ever
    • This 1000%.  Hey who wants to sign with the guy that couldn't even get his client the guaranteed contract of a 3rd round pick?  Lmao
    • I don't think it's any weird or unique clause, it's the offset language, same thing so many contract disputes are over. It just means that including it, if a player is cut and then signed by another team, the original team would be able to subtract how much they're getting paid by the new team from what they still owe him on their guaranteed money. For example, it's why Russell Wilson signed for the minimum last year with the Steelers as that was included in his Denver contract.  So if he signed with the Steelers for $1 million, he'd get $1 million less from the Broncos, if it was $2 million, he'd get $2 million less, basically he couldn't make any more money than he was already going to make, so you sign for the minimum to not take unnecessary cap room from your new team while giving extra cap room to your old one. The problem with trying to include it in rookie deals is that a team trying to include it, it says they think they don't really believe the player will make it 4 years with the team before they cut them.  And this usually comes up with one or two rookies in most seasons, the difference is it's usually handled much more quietly and not as public and ugly as this one. The other difference is that it's happening with the Bengals, which I believe I saw are one of the few (or only?) team that doesn't have protections for rookies in rookie and mini camps to be able to participate even if they haven't signed their contract yet.  The other teams have injury protections that allow them to still play, but the Bengals do not, which is also why this one is so public and ugly, as most the time this happens, the rookie is still participating in the rookie and subsequent mini camps, giving them more time to get the contract done before training camp when they'd then hold out.
