You are doing the same thing that you bitched about in your OP.

You believe the FO sucks, we can't draft, our strategy does not work, Fox is a bad coach, etc...

You are just the other side of the coin.

I personally do think we will have a solid team this year. I like most of the moves, and I do not think we are done yet in FA. I do like the fact that we are not over-paying for some good players in a bad FA market. I do like the fact that we have decided that our team had gotten stale and complacent. I do like the fact that JR is shaking things up.

I am nervously optimistic about this season. But, I think the guys that are being called upon to replace the vets cut will be jsut as solid. I think they will be hungrier and motivated than what we had.

I do worry about the vet leadership factor of cutting alot of the elder statesmen. Right now, I am a little worried about our back-up depth (not the starters).

I do think we will add a vet DE (possibly Brayton) and a #2 WR in FA.

It was a counter balance to the overly optimistic. Alot not all seem happy to settle for an average team so long as were not the lions or raiders. Then try to put a positive spin on every move the FO makes.

Look I'm glad they did this purge, it was needed. I wanted Matt to start at QB for a long time, peppers going thats fine by me and Hoover and Moose liked both but out with the old in with new. The FO finally showed some balls and dropped this loyal to fault thing.

With the player's we have now can we compete, don't know maybe. With our O line, D.Will and Stew, S. Smith and then Fox's ability to slow a game down we should be in most of our games with a chance. Are we going to roll teams no.

I think this year will be an evaluation to see were we stand at all positions, then next year if there is one with the cleared cap space we can start the new panther era. This year will be fun just to see who steps up, put trying to make more out of than that is a set up for disappointment. Unless the magic of 2003 strikes this team again... don't count on it.

I think this season will either go about 7-9 to 8-8 if the young guys don't step up. If they play up to their potential, I think we can go 10-6 and be in the hunt for the playoffs.

feeling good about the team and what they have done doesn't limit itself to this coming year.

i'm much happier about the long term affects of the moves they have made than the short term but even then, i don't think that the team is crippled in 2010 by the decisions that have been made.

i ma honestly happy with what they have done. even picking up the ST players they have i thought was a smart move that i applaud. that was long overdue and i expect some more like that. aside from maybe DE, all that is needed is role players and filling rotational spots. not really a big deal. there is plenty of time to address that.

sure, there was some leadership lost but that just means that others will have to step it up. we have guys that can do just that. beason, harris, and davis on the defense. gross, kalil, williams, stewart, and moore on the offense. these guys will all fit the bill nicely.

even smith is someone who will make a transition to a leadership role. last year his taking kenny moore under his wing was a break from what we have seen from him as far as being a mentor is concerned. he also handled captain munnerlynn physically getting in his face play after play at training camp well.

the Dline is a concern but what we saw last year was that DT holes can be filled much like OG spots were a couple years back. there are plenty of guys floating around that can be plugged in when needed. charles johnson and everette brown have a lot of potential and now they have a chance to show they can reach it. nothing wrong with that.

Rosemary Chicken and Roasted Vegetables

Ingredients

1 (3 pound) whole broiler-fryer chicken

1 tablespoon butter, melted

4 medium red potatoes, quartered

2 cups fresh or frozen whole baby carrots

2 stalks celery, cut into 2-inch pieces

12 small white onions, peeled

1 1/2 teaspoons chopped fresh rosemary leaves

1 cup Swanson® Chicken Stock

1/2 cup orange juice

Directions

Brush the chicken with the butter. Place the chicken and vegetables into a roasting pan. Season with the rosemary. Mix the stock and orange juice in a small bowl and pour half the stock mixture over the chicken and vegetables.

Roast at 375 degrees F for 45 minutes.

Stir the vegetables. Add the remaining stock mixture to the pan. Roast for 30 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
