Derek Anderson likely headed to Cardinals

The following tweet comes from Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official team website:

"QB Derek Anderson reportedly agrees with Cards."

We're not entirely sure if Urban is reporting the news himself or if someone else is, so we'll hold off saying this one is official just yet.

The move would make a lot of sense, though. The Cardinals don't want to risk losing Anderson and Charlie Whitehurst. There has been speculation that Seattle's acquisition of an extra draft pick Tuesday in exchange for Darryl Tapp will be used to get Whitehurst.

The Cardinals want a viable option at quarterback in case Matt Leinart doesn't pan out.

QB Charlie Whitehurst wants to sign oer sheet with Seattle, pending a SD/seattle trade. Derek Anderson agrees to terms with Cardinals.

Alot of people knock on Anderson, I think he's got a lot to offer, good pickup for AZ IMO. Mid 20's with a pro bowl nod on his resume, not to mention the player pool in Cleveland isn't exactly overflowing w/ talent. Given the right opportunity, I'd say he could stand a shot at being a quality starter once again.

they are more interested in charlie whitehurst. they already have an offer made to him. whitehurst has an offer from the seahawks as well. only way anderson gets the job is if whitehurst doesn't take it.

anderson is'nt as attractive as many fans make him out to be. he has too many issues.

i guess anderson did agree to terms with the cards. not their first choice but a cheaper and more certain acquisition than anderson.

one thing is for sure, QB play is going to be dropping off a lot in arizona. neither anderson or leinart can hold a candle to warner. leinart will most likely beat anderson out of the job but i don't think that will be all that difficult.

    • I turned to the NFL Network and they are playing the Wildcard Game against the Rams I think we gained a lot of respect around the league we hung in there for a while into the 4th Quarter 🙂
    • Does anyone know for sure if the game tonite will be on HBO max?  That is where I watched the last one and only access I currently have- I am in SE NC and no broadcast stations carry the games.😖
    • take a  look around the league at other young Qb's such as Drake Maye , Jayden Daniels, Bo Nix , CJ Stroud  & Caleb Williams who at the time like Bryce Young they also were drafted by teams with a losing record .the only difference with these Qb's is after joining their teams with a losing record they led those same teams to a winning record in a very short period of time .it's simply what you call a game changer & or elite Qb's & then take a  look at  the other side of the coin you have Qb's such as Trey Lance, Zach Wilson, Mac Jones, Justin Fields  & Anthony Richardson also like Bryce Young all first round picks who instead of winning either did not play or led their teams to a losing record while playing  Bryce Young who has an overall record of 14-30 & wildly inconsistent & never in the history of the NFL has a Qb 5'10" or shorter had a successful carrer as Qb in the NFL  if anything history is telling you exactly what ?..just saying
