Canes vs caps 7pm

Chatty and Orlov with the only defense on the ice. NOT. CANES. HOCKEY.

Also I find it hard to see us taking Lemieux off the ice. I think if Svech is having issues still after Toronto, Rod needs to sit him for a game or two. KK or Drury is the other question. I think Drury. If we got dinged up forwards I think we need to continue playing Lemieux on rotation.

Svech at the bottom again. Also, is it concerning this is the third game in a row that Kuzy is at the bottom of the list?

Yeah Brett Pesce laying down for 30 seconds when the Caps scored their last goal, might be the cherry on top. I have been down on Brett this entire year, but that was ridiculous, if your injured get off the ice, laying down gave the opposition an advantage. I don’t care if we replace Pesce with Tony from here on out, we should bench Pesce and call up Coughlin.

I mean the dude could have been out of wind, disoriented, assessing how bad the injury was, etc. That one’s on the refs, even if it was an attacking zone push by the caps.

The whole line has been poo, but so have 1 and 4 vs. Philly and 3, 4 vs the caps. We need practices. We aren’t playing canes hockey and instead falling back on flashy “easy” hockey. For real dude, we sucked in the past week or so minus the senators game, the Isles were not in it in their game and we took advantage of that.

Like I said, these wild card teams are going to lay down. We weren’t valuing possession, we are grinding to our spots on the outside and we are losing a majority of the offensive zone board battles, while favoring them to give away the puck, either in ice or on the clear.

I said it all last night, we could score against either Washington goalie. That wasn’t the issue. Drop of a hat could score. But we weren’t playing winning hockey, we were chasing the game the entire game.

We desperately need a full practice but we won’t get one until probably Monday or maybe Wednesday. Easy hockey is not canes hockey and Rod needs to put a stop to this poo now. Everyone is way too goal/individual offense focused.

It’s also important to note we got banged the fug up last night, hopefully Fasty and Drury are on call.

As much of a shooting run Jarvis has been on I question not giving him a go in the shootout

If you want to go purely on numbers. Jarvis is a great open space shooter but that doesn’t necessarily translate to 1v1 without distractions, Netfront, etc.

Perhaps he deserved a chance but I would have gone Kuz, Martinook, Aho, Guenz, Slavin last night.

Well, I have seen Jarvis skimp one knee at a time to get off the ice, and we still got to many men on the ice penalty. Pesce went down almost net front, making it incredibly difficult to defend. Also, you can’t rely on the refs for anything in that game, they were slashing almost everyone and getting away with it.

Better start getting Martin ready for some games. Washington is really trying to cause a stink about Pyotr kicking the dude hacking his glove hand from behind.

I hate the Capitals, I hate them more than Boston or Florida.

Refs didn't say anything because the guy was hitting Coochies glove after the whistle

    • No, he has a long way to go to be that--I think he is probably referring to his ceiling--I think Legette has more room to grow from where he is that those more polished WRs.  When you look at his potential, it presents an argument that is not so one sided.  Of those three, only Odunze had a higher RAS score 9.92.  XL had a 9.90.  Malik Nabors had a 9.67.  Harrison Jr.  did not have one.  I am not sure that Legette has not overcome more obstacles to be where he is, and if you consider his adversity, his story might be more incredible, even though he is only a second tier rookie right nowm with Mitchell, Thomas, Pearsall, and maybe McConkey.  I am going from memory-but you have to think of things as a kid-when he was 16, his mother died of breast cancer.  When he entered S Carolina, his father died.  They had some issues and QB problems and the OL was terrible in Columbia---the others you mentioned?  None of that family drama, and they played at Washington, Ohio State, and LSU.  Huge difference.  I am proud of him as a man--when all his chips were on the table--when he had no more chances, he broke through and became a first round draft pick.  A school with a losing record, mediocre QB, and bad OL.  Mentally, he was struggling through the losses of both parents.  Amazing story.  Is he as good as those three who played at top universities?  Not yet.
